Senior Construction Manager, South-West £70,000-80,000 + Package This is an opportunity to join a major global Engineering and Project Management Consultancy as part of their team to be mobilised as the Construction Management partners for an Energy related mega-project of the very highest profile within the UK. This opportunity will be focused around supporting the end user's construction department by using your knowledge and expertise to shape the construction process and project, whilst overseeing various main and sub-contractors that have been awarded packages of work. This is a major new-build project and we are looking for people from a heavy Civil Engineering background with extensive experience with RC Frames, Re-Bar, Steel Frames, Earthworks etc. Although this is an energy related project it is not essential that you have worked on similar energy projects but you must have the core engineering skills and major project exposure. Duties • Working with the relevant contractors at all stages of the construction planning process to provide advice and expertise and ensure that all relevant procedures and documentation for contractors to follow are current and up-to-date • Working with the contractors to oversee related construction works, ensuring that infrastructure protection is established and that the works are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner to ensure that there are safe systems of work and environmental controls on site • Take an operational lead on interfaces with all external and internal stakeholders relating to project areas. Establish, manage and maintain relationships with key customers, including contractors, and key stakeholders in order to resolve issues quickly • Assist as required in the contribution to the overall construction plan by supervising planning of access, possessions and closures • Facilitate management of the client, supply chain and various stakeholders, and assist in the development and implementation of the delivery vision and strategy for the infrastructure programme, to ensure delivery according to time, cost, quality, safety and environmental specifications • Work within an operational team to develop and implement business processes and performance monitoring across all activities in order to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance. To be considered for this role you will have • Qualified to a minimum level of HNC/HND Civil Engineering and will demonstrate many years experience within major Civil Engineering based new build construction projects. • Ideally you will already have SC level security clearance or as a minimum you must have no reason to be unable to obtain it. • Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and industry best practice including CDM 2015 Regulations
