Highways Design Engineers Surrey Exciting contract successes in the UK and overseas means that we are looking for both senior and intermediate level Highways Design engineers. You must be able to demonstrate at least three years’ Design experience, to join our clients Highways team in Surrey. Applicants will be expected to hold a BSc or MEng degree and should be able to demonstrate and show experience of participation in the design of civil infrastructure and/or structural projects up to and including construction stage. The successful candidates will be expected to have detailed civil and/or structural design experience with knowledge of highways design elements of designing Major Trunk Roads in particular. You will play in integral part; helping to deliver projects to their high standards. The candidate will need to have a strong design background and be able to work within a team environment, supporting the design delivery of existing projects and the growth of the existing client base. This role is an opportunity for a candidate to help develop a highways engineering capability within a growing office supported by a UK wide highways sector team

You will be involved in the exciting and emerging sector of De-Centralised Energy and District Heating, working in partnership with an experienced team of design engineers, focused on developing bespoke Energy Centres and District Energy systems, including heating, cooling and power systems. Job Summary. The position is based in central London for projects within London and the South East. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking for solid career progression and personal development. The Engineer will work closely with the Design Engineering team in providing technical support to the onsite construction team. Roles and Responsibilities • Assist with the preparation of reports and front end studies, including capital cost estimates • Develop project schedules, material take off’s and out to tender schedules • Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue and analyses of returned tenders • Prepare & maintain the delivery schedule to ensure targets are met • Seek to clarify queries with the Design team through the request for information (RFI) system • Prepare programs using MS project • Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports • Produce look ahead programs to assist production. • Maintain a register of contract variations • Prepare test packs for recording the completion of systems • Carry out Quality Control through inspections and snagging • Carry out document control, recording & transmitting information • Assisting projects with financial control of contracts during construction stage • Liaise and co-ordinate with clients, other members of the design team and contractors on technical and commercial issues • A competency in;  Interpreting customer requirements  Performing detailed Site Surveys  Acquiring accurate Proposal Data  Generating Equipment Specifications  Ascertaining Capital Costs  Producing Project Schedules  Preparing Tender Documents • The ability to assist in the formation of Technical and Contract documentation for issue to third parties. On a day-to-day level, you can expect to appraise and interpret client requirements to make sure you always deliver on the technical, legislative and commercial aspects of each project. Minimum Requirements • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. • 3yrs Post Graduate industry experience. • Have general IT skills, knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages. • A knowledge of CHP & BMS systems, plant rooms and boiler functionality, operation and design • A practical knowledge of hot water systems and water treatment, and experience of working with pressure systems standards and controls. • An understanding of Industry Regulations, Legislation, Codes of Practice and current Design Standards applicable to the engineering sector. • A solid understanding of industry Health & Safety legislation requirements. • The ability to self-motivate, work well as part of a team and have consistent attention to detail. • Experience of Energy Conservation, Sustainability and Renewable Technologies, with an understanding of the principles of District Heating. • An understanding of the Procurement and Installation of Low-Carbon Energy Generation • A proficiency in the production of detailed System Design, including Comprehensive Calculations and meticulous Construction Layouts

Quantity Surveyor -London We are currently working closely with an International Construction Projects organisation providing Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and commissioning services across a variety of Industry Sectors. Due to consistent repeat business from their clients and successful handover of completed projects, the organisation is growing considerably and would like to bring a number of Quantity Surveyors to their team based in London. Responsibilities: • Measuring from plan drawings and isometrics to produce fully priced detailed bills of quantities c/w labour hours and material costs • Tracking costs and labour through the project • Preparing costs for variations • Producing monthly valuations • Carry out full construction take off, prepare construction cost plan, track costs & labour costs efficiency through the project • Prepare subcontract packages for procurement, agree contracts and manage through to final account Candidate Profile: • Must demonstrate at least 2 years up to 20 years Mechanical & Electrical QS experience • Degree in Construction Economics (Quantity Surveying) or equivalent • Candidates must be willing to travel across the region as required • Experience of Construction and building services projects
