We are currently looking to recruit a Senior QS to join a main civil engineering contractor working out of regional offices in Leeds within their Power division.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for a variety of projects. Primarily you will be involved at the front end or ‘work winning’ process by engaging with the tender team. To be considered for the role you should be able to demonstrate a strong background in QSing within the construction environment working for main contracting organisations. Although this is a job with a civils contractor they are prepared to look at people with the right skills in procurement from any construction discipline as long as you come from a main contractor background. Knowledge of CECA Blue Form and NEC forms of contract would be an advantage.
At this stage my client is only looking to employ degree qualified candidates from main contractor backgrounds. Ideally you will also be a member of a relevant body.

Working between the office and site you will be responsible for a variety of schemes. Currently the company is doing less sub-contract work and is looking to work as main contractor for local authorities and private clients. This can involve work in a variety of disciplines so we are looking for someone with a multidisciplinary civil engineering background.
To be considered for the role you should be able to demonstrate a progressive career that has led you to be either currently working as a Project Manager or looking for that step up. Ideally you’ll be degree qualified but HNC/HND would be acceptable if you have the right level of experience. In terms of a multidisciplinary background you should have gained experience in waste water, utilities, roads / highways, groundworks, etc…
As this employer is a medium sized company it would be an advantage if you came from a similar sized business.
