What you will be doing

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager to join our project in Durham. You will be responsible for aspects of a small/medium sized project or several small projects with an indicative value of up to £1M-£15M.
What you will be doing
* To plan and deliver all work on a small/medium sized site or a few smaller sites, ensuring work is completed on time and to the defined standard.
* To ensure short and medium contract programmes are planned, reviewed and delivered.
* To monitor progress periodically against the project plan and monitor expenditure, resolving issues but may escalate critical operational issues to the Project Manager (if a larger site).
* Line management of Section Managers and other workflow supervisors.
* Provide periodic updates to clients on project/contract progress, typically operational in nature.
* Ensure project documentation & risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.

·Check works are completed as required by the specification in terms of dimension and quality
·Ensure that company policies for temporary works and safety are complied with and are applied within the section and that works are structurally safe
·Prepare programmes as required in conjunction with the Foremen
·Check weekly that resources are available to meet the programme, in liaison with the Project Manager
·Measure and record weekly the permanent work completed for valuation purposes
·Ensure that additional works and/or variations are notified for inclusion in the monthly valuations and provide comprehensive records
·Measure the work of sub-contractors weekly, control, measure and record work extra to the sub-contracts
·Manging scheme budget and cost control
·Supervise or execute the routine control of materials, both in quality and quantity
·Supervise or execute the cost system processes relating to input of resources
·Keep a full and accurate daily site diary
·Ensure that proper records are kept and carefully filed
The Individual / Knowledge and Skills required:
As a Site Agent you will have extensive experience in working on civil engineering projects in a similar role, specifically on delivering waste or clean water treatment projects.
·Ideally HNC/HND/Degree in a civil engineering discipline
·CITB – 5 Day SMSTS Certificate
·CSCS Supervisors/Managers Card
·First Aid at Work, would be preferred but not essential
·Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative
·Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation
