Overview

The Role
* Create 2D drawings and 3D models as required by Engineers with minimal supervision using AutoCAD and Revit
* Produce 3D visualisation files which can be used in presentations
* Ensure all work produced meets the required standards
* Maintain a drawing register, and file electronically and manually as appropriate
* Ensure completion of all assigned tasks within agreed timescales
* Regularly liaising with Project Managers, lead technical staff, Engineers and clients
* Assist Project Engineers with data input (such as co-ordinated setting out drawings and schedules)

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a long standing client of ours, an established planning consultancy based in Cheshire, who have a new requirement for an Architectural CAD Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.
Our client is working on a variety of exciting projects, and are busier than ever! They predominately work within the rural/ agricultural sector so experience within this field is advantageous.
You will be mainly producing AutoCad drawings to help support planning applications, so strong AutoCad knowledge is essential.
Essential skills/ qualifications for this Architectural CAD Technician role:
Relevant architectural qualification
Experience in a technical UK based role
Ambitious, dedicated and driven to succeed
Confident and possessing strong communication skills
Strong AutoCad, Sketchup and Photoshop skills
Good technical understanding, understanding of current UK Building/ Planning Regulations
Have an strong interest in planning
Ideally, you will have a full driving licence and transportCommutable locations for this Architectural CAD Technician role:
Northwich, Altrincham, Lymm, Warrington, Wilmslow

You will have at least 6 years’ AutoCad experience ideally from an electrical background with proven knowledge of the latest standards producing high quality IT, AV and security drawings, to stringent deadlines. Working knowledge Revit would be useful.. Responsibilities will include leading the development of CAD standards and templates as well as the management and production of detailed IT/AV or Security Drawings such as Floor Plans, Schematics, Cabinet/Frame Layouts, Densities, Detail Drawings and Isometric Diagrams. Our client designs and specifies the mechanical and electrical services for a wide range of buildings including offices, data centres, residential apartments, schools, universities, colleges, hotels, etc. with an emphases on sustainable, low carbon design on high profile projects across the UK with leading architects, designers and contractors and have an excellent reputation for delivery, quality and reliability of their services
As a result of strong pipe line of work and growth, our client is need of a Revit / AutoCad Technician to join their busy design department and support the implementation of BIM practices and procedures as well as support the delivery of work
Our client is open to considering candidates from various sectors including engineering, nuclear, heavy industrial, manufacturing, etc
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the design engineers, would be expected to undertake the following roles;
Work as part of a BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results.
Production of level 2 BIM models and drawings.
Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow processes.
Deliver technically correct outputs using CAD/REVIT.
Prepare detailed working drawings as required by the project manager.
Adhere to BIM execution Plan and BIM project work-flow criteria.
Have a good understanding of all relevant standards and codes of practice.
Liaise with project teams ensure continuity of work load.
Be able to work to specific client drawing standards.
Manage own time in order to deliver to programme.
Other duties as agreed with Team Leader / CAD Manager.
Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to take on responsibilityQualifications
Ideally educated to HNC level or above, although primarily looking for experience.This is a great opportunity to develop within, and you will be supported and assisted by the project director and senior design engineers on a day to day bases, but with the emphasis on you being given space to work under your own initiative too. A great change from a structured and pressured cooperate environment.
