The Role
* Comply to all company and site specific HSEQ policies at all times
* Working alongside crews, site operatives and sub-contractors
* Attend inductions, training, and EH&S meetings as and when required
* Attend and successfully carry out all assigned duties to deliver projects safely and timely
* Work with Project Managers and Site Engineers to ensure field work is delivered safely and efficiently whilst maintaining high quality standards
* Produce site records including, but not limited to; daily drilling logs, pre-start drilling rig checks, risk assessments and reports
* Working on various projects utilising numerous drilling rigs and techniques in accordance with the appropriate specification
* Produce reports based upon precise data, relevant information, ground conditions and any other specific project requirements
The Person
* Demonstrable experience of various project-based drilling techniques, with the ability to use and operate complex rigs and equipment
* Reading and understanding of site / project specifications and drawings
* A good understanding of adopting varied techniques pertaining to the ground / site conditions
* A full awareness of project specifications and other contract documents
* An ability to produce reports that are easily digested based on gathering large amounts of technical information from multiple sites

This is an amazing opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, who has experience in Change Management, to embark on a huge billion pound project under a major tier 1 contractor.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor focusing on change management, the candidate will be an integral part a particular section located within the Wendover and South Heath area. The successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers, manage the commercial team in procurement activities.
The selected candidate would expect to work closely with the operations team for the identification and control of change management through design, 3rd parties and construction constraints. Notifying change events accordingly through the contract and negotiate agreements of both principle and quantum with the client.

The principal function of this position is to be the key person between the design team and the installation team in the implementation of dewatering and monitoring schemes and act as team leader and main point of contact for our clients. Working for our clients customers for the installation of dewatering systems in both outdoor and indoor environments (often within tunnels, audits, and shafts which frequently including low to medium risk confined spaces)
Position summary
Key responsibilities for this role include but not are not limited to:
Carry out project management and supervision activities, including:
To supervise site activities (drilling, pump tests & dewatering system installation) and closely liaise with our clients site staff, supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers.
To main a documentary record, to a high quality standard, of our clients contractual activities including the collection, collation and presentation of data
To assist the Project Manager to perform project management and dissemination responsibilities, including drafting of regular progress reports as required and participating in team meetings
Prepare Method Statements, including working drawings and works procedures
Brief the site team, including specialist subcontractors
To assist the Project Manager to administer the project programme and ensuring contractual targets are met
To assist the Project Manager to prepare, issue and negotiate monthly payment applications
Collect, collate and present monitoring data from projects in-hand
Undertake business development activities for new contracts. This may involve site visits to collect information and discuss our client’s requirements, pursuing tenders, and assist in the preparation of tenders and quotations.
To be responsible for own health and safety and to prepare Risk Assessments for our activities. Brief, check and audit site staff to ensure safe working practices are being followed
Liaise with the company auditors and ensure execution of corrective actions

Candidate Requirements:
A motivated and hardworking individual with good written and communication skills is essential. Minimum 1 years’ experience within the construction industry managing projects and site staff in a similar environment and can demonstrate sufficient skills and knowledge.
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
Understanding of hydrogeology, engineering geology or civil engineering

Principal Design Engineer – Rail/ Civil Engineering

Having secured a number of long-term Frameworks with key clients, our client is further expanding their Civil & Structural Design team. We have a number of positions available at various levels for engineers who are committed to delivering the optimum design solution, building on their experience, and furthering their professional development.
The design team consists of specialist designers at various levels of competency responsible for design engineering on a variety of civils, rail and engineering projects and frameworks including CP6, asset management contracts, infrastructure projects and tendered rail / civils schemes.
Projects can typically include bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms etc.), access for all schemes, structures including bridges, tunnels and footbridges.
The Role
We are seeking a Principal Engineer for the Design Team to further support the business in undertaking both Permanent and Temporary Works Design across several long-term frameworks that we have secured with a number of major Clients.
This is a lead role within the Design Team, responsible for the technical aspects of engineering projects in addition to programming, resource allocation, budgetary control, managing customer satisfaction, reviews, coaching and recruitment. As Principal Design Engineer, your day to day role will include:
• Provide definitive technical guidance and leadership on engineering solutions
• Lead the resolution of any compliances with CDM Regulations.
• Define the brief, enabling the progression of innovative development of unambiguous
engineering solutions from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Lead the development of design philosophies of engineering solutions, ensuring appropriate
documentation is in place.
• Hold the CRE (Design) role on Network Rail schemes, over a varied range of projects including multi-disciplinary schemes.
• Check and approve design deliverables, including Designer’s Risk Assessments and Decision
Logs.
• Be the lead representative at meetings with internal and/or external Clients and
Stakeholders.
• Ensure work is delivered within the team’s financial, quality and programme targets
• Provide strong leadership and motivation of teams, carrying out scheduled performance and
development reviews for direct reports
• Mentor and coach team members, and input in to succession planning.
• Keep Clients informed of costs or implications of change in a timely manner, and address any
queries/disputes which may arise.
• Assist the Head of Design in the management of the department
• Promote a culture of excellence in the company Design & Engineering towards its customers
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Principal Design Engineer in a rail project environment.
• Minimum BEng / BSc Degree level of education.
• Chartered Member of a relevant Professional Body. (e.g. ICE / IStructE)
• Sentinel Personal Track Safety (PTS) competence in both AC and DC.
• Civil engineering project design experience – i.e. bridges, structures, stations, platforms etc.
• Candidates from a rail / civil & structural engineering design background with experience in client, contractor or consultancy organisations will be considered.
