The Construction Insurance team is part of the firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base, acting for the vast majority of Professional Indemnity Insurers in the market and their insureds. The team handles a wide variety of claims against various construction related professionals including engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, project managers, design / build contractors and surveyors. The team is also frequently asked to advise insurers on policy coverage aspect of claims. The successful candidate will ideally be degree/HNC or similar qualified with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic construction environment. The role requires working closely with other construction professionals including client engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and planning engineers.
The role will be both office and site based. The nature of this makes the possession of a driving licence essential to enable site visits and meeting with Clients / Sub Contractors.
Significant on the job training will be provided to develop the successful candidates knowledge base, by working alongside experienced professionals who have a wealth of expertise. This will be supplemented with off-site learning leading to a professional qualification in surfacing and associated works.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Contracts team – visiting sites, measuring works and accompanying Contract Managers
* Continuing liaison – potentially further meeting with Clients and sub contractors to offer engineering improvements to the scope of works.
* Contributing to the planning and programming – to develop a plan for the works through to completion
* Health and Safety awareness- at planning stage and monitoring through the works
* Cost Management – produce a cost for the works prior to commencement

* Measure works on completion and agree any additional works required
* Gathering all information together for invoicing at the end of the project and Contribute to the final assessment of the cost and value of each individual scheme
