Based out of their fabulous offices in the Wolverhampton / Codsall area, you will have a minimum of two years in industry outside of further education whether it be from College or University. BTEC or HNC as a minimum is required for this vacancy. You will be detailing and draughting work for interesting and varied schemes up to £10M. Your focus will be the drawing of LSF and SFS, light gauge steel and pre panelised steel structures. Such projects may include student accomodation, hotels, medium rise apartments up to 10 storeys, healthcare centres, schools and colleges etc to name a few. You will be proficient and yet will have an eagerness to learn more and develop yourself, as such, this business prides themselves in investing and developing their people further. The right individual for the Structural Technician position will have a background working on a range of commercial and residential projects, within a UK based Design Consultancy. Ideally the right candidate for this Structural Technician role will need to have a minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience working for UK based Consulting Engineers providing Design services within the sector, with end clients being ideally in the residential sector although other sectors including commercial, education and leisure are considered. You will need to be skilled in AutoCAD as well as having previous experience using other software to complete Structural Design on Residential and Commercial projects. Software packages that would be of particular interest would be Tekla Structural Designer, Revit Structures and Navisworks. Candidates with experience in all of these software packages would have a distinct advantage, however candidates with previous experience in AutoCAD and one other of these software packages would be considered. Steelwork Detailer Our client is a leading supplier of structural steelwork buildings including Architectural steelwork, stairs, hand rails, open grid flooring etc across a wide range of industry sectors. They also are a leading player, with a truly International client base, in the supply of off site modular units, totally complete with all construction materials and installations manufactured and delivered to site - ready to go. They now require an additional steelwork detailer. The company use Tekla structures software in their own drawing office so ideally, they seek experienced Tekla detailers. Detailers using other 3D detailing software may be considered, but Tekla users are much preferred. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience using Tekla structures software and be competent in the detailing of hot rolled and cold rolled steelwork of a wide variety. Candidates must have solid experience of working in the steelwork industry or associated industries. You will be expected to produce Tekla models with all necessary steelwork component fully detailed and work with design team colleagues and Revit technicians in completing a complete 3D model of the modular units, ensuring clash detection between all materials and elements within a modular unit. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your portfolio of work, in learning all aspects of what this excellent International company supply in structural steelwork and modular factory produced units. Any experience using Revit software would be an advantage but by no means essential as all training will be given in passing on Tekla models into Revit and visa versa with design colleagues. The ability to work within a team in the drawing office and design colleagues is essential as well as the ability to work alone on some projects.
