Select and nominate sub-contractors for specific works, ensuring high quality work at a competitive price. Take direct responsibility for Health and Safety of employees, sub-contractors, and visitors on the site. Manage costs, sales, and forecasts of each project in liaison with the Commercial department. Ensure that all project personnel have the appropriate training and competencies for their role. Work in partnership with the SHEQ and HR team to ensure full competency of project resources. Accurately measure, quantify, and order specific material requirements. Liaise with the client on technical issues ensuring quality and consistency of installations. Ensure all documentation is to the highest of standards, and Project Hangover Files are provided to the Client in an efficient time frame. Maximize team performance whilst focusing on a safety-first culture. Ensure delivery of all relevant equipment and materials on site as required. Accurately mark out routes, section lengths and joint bay positions where relevant, conveying this information to the operational delivery teams Ensure excavations comply with health and safety regulations and best practice - ensure the Ensure design criteria is met throughout the project life cycle. We are recruiting for an experienced Civils Network Delivery Supervisor based in the South West. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and has supervised operational Construction teams previously. This role would suit an experienced highways inspector or Construction from the Telecom or Utility sector. The main duties include the responsibility for the following: Supervision of sub-contractor civil teams. Co-ordinate with Sub Contractor and field engineering teams to ensure delivery of required daily productivity. Monitor the quality performance of works and adherence to Customer and HAUC Specifications. Coordinate all Highway activities with local authorities and back office staff ensuring appropriate Notices and traffic management are in place. Recording of Day to Day productivity, through onsite measuring of all construction works onsite. Maintain and amend build plans / maps where required. Deal with day to day issues and problem solving regarding onsite activities. Liaise with the local authorities and the general public with regards to works onsite. Comply with Health & Safety and environmental policies. Responsible to ensure van audits, onsite audits carried out. Deal with toolbox talks, QA memos and liaise with Quality auditors. Provide technical support to include onsite planning. The ideal candidate for this role should have the following skills & qualifications: Minimum of three years’ experience working within the Telecoms or Utilities industry preferably at a Supervisor or Highways Inspector level. Must have NRSWA Accreditation Extensive knowledge of NRSWA, SROH, Notices and Permits. Good awareness of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance Procedures, Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Construction Design Management Regulations and Section 74 Regulations. Able to work with complex technical drawings. Experience in surveying and detecting underground apparatus. Effective Leadership and communication skills. Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively. Good Supervision skills. Awareness of Customer Satisfaction for both internal and external sources. Embrace and manage change within the working environment. Our client is a multi utility groundwork's company. Due to new contract wins they are looking for a Civils Supervisor in the Tyne-Tees area Experience: * Three years’ experience of supervising street works * Controlling and inspecting dig H&S * Inspecting Civils reinstatement quality * Telecommunications fibre roll-out (Advantage) Duties and Responsibilities Reporting into the Head of Quality, with daily communications with our clients Project Managers, the Civils Inspector is responsible for H&S and build Quality of Ultrafast Fibre Network. * Key Responsibilities: * Conduct site safety checks to ensure all subcontractor signing and guarding and traffic management in general is appropriate and as per NRSWA spec * Instruct contractor crews on appropriate signing and guarding as necessary * Complete joint site inspection to assess visual quality of civils work * Conduct compaction tests as per specification to gauge the absolute level of compaction * Coach crews on appropriate civils methods to ensure that build quality is maintained * Ensure all civils work is as per all relevant HAUC standards * Oversee core test regime and document findings with recommendations as required * Liaise with local communities to ensure build programme progresses smoothly and with minimum disruption * Conduct site surveys to assist initial design process * Ensure construction phase plans and Health and Safety files in place and being adhered to * Assist Project Manager to walk routes with subcontractor to ensure work is competed to the correct standard In return our client offer a competitive rate of pay
