The roles
You will be part of a dedicated, highly motivated, and collaborative team that together deliver quality, client-focussed and project-led work. The team are responsible for managing archaeological projects throughout the lifecycle, leading on the successful tendering, planning, operation, delivery and completion. Tasks include preparation of bids, project design, mobilisation in the field, public engagement, reporting and publication.
All roles have a business development element, and therefore, a commercially focussed outlook, confident and proactive team leadership skill, problem solving and adaptability in approach are essential to your success. A driving licence is also highly desirable as regular travel is expected as part of the role, both within and outside of London.
The division in which this role plays a pivotal part, has a core commercial function and one of our key objectives is to assist our valued clients in meeting their planning requirements, embed our work within their projects and to promote social and public benefit.
Assistant Project Managers
National: £33,300 to £40,960 / London: £35,411 to £41,827
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in the design and delivery of archaeological projects and to manage and deliver smaller archaeological project. We are looking for project managers who are highly experienced in the delivery of projects at a management and consultancy level with experience in London or urban construction or archaeology; including a solid working knowledge of preparing bids, contract and Line management, resource planning, programme management, change control, forecasting and financial reporting.
Senior Project Manager
National: £42,435 to £49,456 / London: £47,116 to £52,966
We would also consider applications for Senior Project Managers that would suit a highly experienced Project Manager with a demonstrable casework track-record, looking to further develop their career and knowledge. Successful candidates will be expected to organise, manage and deliver tender bids, to procure new work and operate independently to deliver MOLAs strategic business, research and public benefit goals. In your role you will place Health and Safety at the fore and seek to contribute to continued improvement and best safe-working practices. As a Senior Project Manager you will manage a range of archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation projects simultaneously, whilst ensuring delivery within set timescales and budgets which you have costed and commercially manage.

Preconstruction Technical Manager Type of position: Permanent Job Role: Pre-Construction Technical Manager Start date: ASAP Location of work/ project: Central London Value of project Projects range from small demolition (circa £1m) to complex cut and carve structures with hydraulic jacking, infilling within retrofit projects and newbuild large towers with deep basements (worth upwards of £40m+) Scope of works: The role will include but will not be limited to: Lead the technical development to unlock complex and interesting projects. Unpick invitations for tender and distribute to different disciplines to provide technical solutions. Co-ordinating and managing technical answers and prioritising for the overall successful delivery of the tender programme and solution. Producing basic to intermediatory programmes utilising Asta. Supporting PQQ process and providing technical answers to bid management team. Producing temporary works design briefs Creating Outline Method Statements Managing sub-contractor quotation teams to deliver best possible deliverable programmes and prices. Specific responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the preconstruction lead working alongside preconstruction managers and estimators to ensure tenders are fully technically considered and can be successfully delivered by site teams. Managing producing and giving tender interview presentations Leading site walks to better understand and develop tender strategies.
