The appointed Engineer will be responsible for the design, specification, and coordination of Public Health Engineering Systems, contributing to high-quality, sustainable building services solutions. Key Responsibilities will include: Above and below ground drainage Hot and cold water services Rainwater harvesting systems Greywater recycling systems Produce detailed calculations, layouts, schematics, and specifications Prepare reports and technical documentation Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients, architects, and contractors Ensure compliance with relevant UK standards, regulations, and best practice Undertake site inspections and monitor installation quality Support Junior Engineers and contribute to team development Requirements Professional qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline Experience in a public health engineering role within a design environment Strong knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g., Water Regulations, British Standards, Building Regulations) Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience desirable) Good understanding of sustainable design principles Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines Desirable Skills & Experience Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE) Experience with large-scale or complex developments Knowledge of BREEAM or other sustainability assessment methods Familiarity with modern methods of construction (MMC) Applications are invited from experienced Mechanical/Public Health Engineers who would like to focus on PH design, working in collaboration with a wider MEP team to deliver complex building design.
