Reporting to the Telecoms QESH Manager you will be responsible for driving continual improvement in Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health practices across our sites and developing best practice as part of our zero accident, incident and defect strategy.
What you’ll be doing day to day
* Provide accurate QESH advice and support to operational field delivery staff, including advising on CDM 2015 regulations, compliance as well as environmental issues. This will either be by direct support or use of available expertise within the business unit.
* Assist with the compilation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements etc.
* Provide support and guidance to operational teams, management and customers on QESH performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.
* Drive the positive intervention reporting initiative and encourage near miss, positive intervention and non-conformance reporting
* Assist and support the QESH Manager in the preparation of internal and external reports
* Engage staff and contractors on QESH performance on a day to day basis and support the delivery of objectives and targets.

* Assist and support operational management to promote QESH at briefings and internal and external meetings.

* Undertake evaluations of existing and potential subcontractors, including annual auditing of sub-contractor’s management systems.
* Support local managers on the contact with QESH regulators (e.g. HSE, Local Authority, Environment Agency etc.) accompanying them on inspections, audits and responding to complaints and queries.
* Provide feedback on identified QESH risks and give advice regarding possible solutions and remedial actions.
* Work within and promote the philosophy of safe team working and development across all company activities to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance.
* Engender and operate in a culture of zero tolerance of accidents and self-inflicted incidents
The experience we're looking for
* NEBOSH General, Construction Certificate and/or Environmental Certificate.

About the role:
The main purpose of the Project Manager role is to successfully deliver new electricity and gas connection projects from LV to 66kV and LP – MP.
This is a mobile role, with frequent travel to customers, sites and UKPS offices. To be considered for this role you must be based in Gloucester, Bristol or the surrounding areas.
Key responsibilities and duties of the role:
* Manage and supervise internal and external staff; covering cable jointing, substation installation, excavation & reinstatement, cable installation, gas pipe installations, installation of pressure reducing installations commissioning and energisation
* Responsible for project safety, cost and quality
* Prepare Work Instructions, Risk Assessments & Method Statements
* Liaise with Local Authorities regarding street works
* Procure and control project materials
* Provide monthly project reports and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
* Liaise with DNO’s & iDNO’s to complete final connections
* Liaise with and support both the client and UKPS team to ensure smooth project delivery
What we are looking for:
Ideal Qualifications / Experience
* 5 years’ experience in Electrical Project Management
* Experienced in managing internal and external labour for cable installation, jointing, switchgear installation and gas installation works
* Qualification in Electrical Engineering e.g. C&G, ONC, HNC & Degree (equivalent Engineering qualifications may be considered)
* SMSTS, ECS/CSCS, First Aid, Manual Handling
* Previous experience of power distribution or gas networks advantageous
* NRSWA Supervisor qualifications advantageous

* Ability to work effectively within a team, with good internal and external communication skills

Removal of trees and existing boundary fences, construction of sheet pile defence, reinstatement of fencing and landscaping.
Removal of existing car park surface followed by excavation to a new formation level to allow strengthening of entire car park surface for HGV traffic. Construction of new car park, footpath access and car park drainage.
Construction of new pumping station consisting of combined wet well and valve chamber with rising main discharge to open channel via flap valve in a new headwall.
Excavation to formation and construction of new headwall structure with flap valves to front and rocker pipe to rear to accept gravity drain pipe. Reinstatement of channel invert and bank to include erosion protection.
