Across the Risktec south of England nuclear wider team individuals are involved in work supporting commissioning activities at Hinkley Point C and safety case documentation for Small Module Reactor Generic Design Assessments. Role Description and Responsibilities This role provides an opportunity to be part of an exciting, dynamic, and rapidly growing nuclear team across the south of England. Typical responsibilities may include: Supporting the delivery of major construction-based safety cases. Providing specialist civil/structural input and advice to resolve construction problems. Facilitating hazard identification in cooperation with CDM regulations and optioneering workshops. Production of formal technical reports, safety cases and other project deliverables on time and to budget. Implementation of modifications to site, including Supporting construction team and client during the construction process through problem solving. Supporting the build of safety case through justification of design. Reviewing design proposals and producing design substantiation reports. Authoring testing and commissioning strategies and functional test procedures. Support to plant operability, including: Condition monitoring and identification of plant faults. Supporting equipment reliability reviews, including plant walk downs. Reviewing maintenance routines/strategy. Management of projects, project teams and interfacing with clients. As part of this role, you will gain a broad and in depth understanding of risk management, design and operations within a large generating site. Security Clearance Checks Due to the nature of the work, candidates must have a suitable background and a valid UK working status that will allow them to achieve UK security clearance. (please note that this is very difficult to achieve within the timescales for non-UK nationals, and all applicants will be subject to a screening process prior to interview to ensure that you meet the security clearance criteria).
