Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Building Services / MEP / Consultancy
This role is to join the MEP Team of an award winning international integrated design consultancy. This role will cover a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects from laboratories, transport hubs, heritage and high spec projects.
My client delivers cutting edge design solutions allowing engineers the freedom to push the boundaries of sustainable building technology across HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing disciplines.
The MEP team work in close collaboration with practice-wide specialist groups such as sustainability & physics, facades, lighting, and technology.
Responsibilities
* Undertake detailed electrical engineering building services design and calculations, using Revit and Amtech software to support your knowledge of building design and performance
* Produce and review reports, presentations, models, and drawings to an excellent standard, high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.
* Dealing with multiple stakeholders on highly complex projects
* Ensure projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget.
* Working closely with other members of the project team.
* Responsible for a range of projects, including multi use projects, government, and heritage buildings.
* Communicating directly with Clients, offering innovative design solutions and managing expectations.
* Working with senior staff to prepare technical and financial proposals for new work.
* Managing workload of graduate engineers and technicians
* Preparing Technical Specifications.
Experience Required
* Solid experience of electrical design engineering in a consultancy environment.
* Ability to accept high levels of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.
* An appreciation of a designs embodied carbon
* Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet to net zero targets.
* Digital skills such as coding would be beneficial.
* Experience of supporting more junior engineers and working collaboratively in teams
* Specialism in a particular area of electrical engineering welcomed
* Awareness of Amtech, Dialux, and AutoCAD preferred, Revit highly desirable.
* Bachelors degree (BEng) / BSc or Masters degree (MEng) / MSc or equivalent and possibly working towards professional registration.

Due to continued growth and an increase in workload my client based in the West End are currently looking for a Senior MEP CAD/Revit Technician to strengthen their MEP Design engineering and BIM production capability.
My client was founded in the 70's and has grown from strength to strength opening 6 offices across the UK. The London office is expanding and with 30 multidiscipline engineers already in this office they are looking to increase this number by 20%. They have worked on projects from small refurbishments through to new build developments of commercial office space, hotels, retail, residential, historic, industrial, educational and healthcare. They also work for various global property management companies including Savills, Jones Lang LaSalle and Colliers international giving a good idea of my clients reputatuion in the market. Their varied sector/client reach does not stop there as they also deliver on listed buildings including the Globe Theatre, plus end users such as Disney
This is a very important vacancy for my client as it means supporting the design engineers and leading the CAD team. You will be responsible for bringing your team up to speed with MEP REVIT as well as be the go to. You will be supporting the implementation of BIM practices and procedures as well as delivering work. This role also means you will be expected to mentor junior members of the team with your own technical expertise regarding MEP Revit.
My client can offer a very progressive career path and the position will indeed evolve into an even more senior position eventually running the whole division. It is important you have experience with managing a team and the ability to communicate well as you will be the layer between the design engineers and your own team. Although my client has enjoyed taking on repeat business with clients already mentioned, they also attract many companies that require a quick turn around on particular projects due to their reliability and reputation for delivering on time. Therefore, organisation, project management and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple task would certainly be an advantage. You will be expected to have excellent time and cost management skills in order to plan and achieve delivery to the desired quality.

You must be educated to HNC level or equivalent with demonstrable experience as a BIM coordinator and hold a professional qualification. It is vital that you have recent experience working in Building Services with MEP Revit experience in order for you to hit the ground running and lead your team.
My client is more interested in your ability to do this than having many years of experience using CAD so it is essential that you know MEP Revit inside and out. A combination of the two would be ideal.
