Mechanical Design Engineer - Due to continued growth and success, my client, a successful mechanical & electrical building services company, are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join their friendly and busy team. As a business, they work across residential, commercial, care homes, student accomodation, hotel and leisure sectors although the majority of their work is currently high end residential.
As the successful Mechanical Design Engineer, you must have a minimum of an HNC with 2 years experience in a similar environment. You will be proficient in the use of Hevacomp/Cymap. Some knowledge/understanding of Autocad would be beneficial but not essential as you will be supported by an established Cad Department.
Duties & Responsibilities
To be able to carry out competent designs in accordance with standards and guidelines
To prepare drawings (either cad/hand drawn) to allow installation
To be able to carry out calculations in CYMAP
To prepare full tenders for design and build projects and pre-designed
To present tender for adjudication by Directors providing all labour/material/prelim analysis
To complete Tender analysis forms as requested by Design Manager
To produce accurate & concise tender letters
To chase tendered work and report outcome to Managers
To identify training requirements to allow engineering role to continue accurately
To assist with training of apprentices
To assist contracts team during project installations
To carry out tasks complying with Company Management Policy and Quality Systems
To attend design meetings maintaining commmunication levels with all design team
To identify design risks whilst carrying out design and inform the design teamDay to day, you will be responsible for the detailed design of mechanical services including Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and public health on a variety of projects, with the majority of those projects currently being high end residential.
You will be working as part of an established design team in the Birmingham office and will also be responsible for attending design team meetings and client meetings.
