Multi Skilled Engineers Commercial building maintenance Location: Kensington and Chelsea Salary: £40,000 - £43,000p/a Contract Type: Permanent About the Role: 4Site Recruitment is seeking experienced multi skilled engineers/fabric technicians to join our client for maintenance works in the Kensington and Chelsea area. Reporting to the Facilties Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of the care home buildings, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures the facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant with all regulatory standards, providing a comfortable and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site Diagnose and repair faults relating to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems Complete minor installation works, basic decorating, and carpentry or joinery repairs Ensure statutory compliance checks are completed and recorded, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and water temperature checks Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential maintenance or safety issues Support the management team in maintaining compliance with CQC and Health & Safety requirements Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures and risk assessments Note: Major issues such as boiler repairs will be handled by approved subcontractors. This is a hands-on role involving property maintenance across residential and commercial premises in London and High Wycombe. The majority of work will be in SE17 and surrounding but you will also be required to go to the High Wycombe site. Owing to a vast increase in units delivered and continued & exciting growth plans they are looking to add an additional Customer Care Operative (Technician) to their existing regional Customer Care team. You will be working on post-completion properties ensuring all defects are rectified within a professional and timely manner, working in customers homes, liaising with customers on issues raised and putting right, within their 2 year defects period. The duties of the role will be to carry out a high standard of customer service and multi trades / maintenance works within occupied homes. This includes works from: Carpentry, Plumbing, Decorating, Painting, Mastic, Tiling etc throughout the warranty period. The role: Meet with customers in their homes and carry out works to a high-quality and timely manner. Working along-side contractors as necessary to ensure all works are carried out as necessary. Keeping the company updated regarding works that are finished. Travel across the region covered as necessary. Adhering to Health & Safety policies at all times. The Opportunity: As a Multi trade Technician, you will be responsible for completing repairs within our customers homes. This role requires a high quality of work and excellent customer care that will help exceed our customers expectations. Requirements As a Multi Skilled Technician, you will be required to carry out a wide range of maintenance works in our occupied and unoccupied properties including carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling, groundworks. You will receive work orders through your PDA and be given appointment times to attend. You will need to identify the right, cost effective solution to problems that you attend and complete those repairs to a good standard and with the minimum inconvenience to the customer. * As part of our Repairs Field Team you will be customer facing, knowledgeable and capable with high standards of workmanship. You will also have exceptional organisational skills, be self-motivated, reliable and prompt. * You must be able to work without supervision and have experience of identifying the most cost-effective way to repair a fault, including estimating how long it will take to complete, ordering of materials through to job completion. The skills you will need: Ideally you will hold a Carpentry qualification. You must have multi skilled trades experience in other areas such as basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, fencing and groundworks. You must have a full clean UK driving licence as we will provide you with a fully stocked van, PPE and power tools. You will be expected to participate in an out of hours rota, typically one week in seven, for which there is additional payment. In addition to your technical skills you will be fluent in English and able to easily engage with a variety of people at all levels. Benefits Competitive Salary up to £34,300 per annum. A fully stocked company van, fuel card, PPE and power tools will be provided. An additional payment for being on the out-of-hours rota.
