One of the region’s leading Civil Engineering Consultancies is actively looking to recruit two Quantity Surveyors / Commercial Managers to work on some recently awarded Rail projects as part of a large framework. The role is to start on 25th May 2020. THE COMPANY The client is one of the leading Consultancies in the South West and Wales region and has a strong pipeline of projects across a number of sectors. With a strong presence within Civils and Infrastructure they are working on a large number of projects across Rail, Highways and Utilities. Being a key member of a number of frameworks this provides the business with long term security which is particular important given the current climate. THE POSITION On the back of a recently awarded Rail framework they are actively looking to recruit two Quantity Surveyors / Commercial Managers at Intermediate level to be based from Cardiff. The appointed individuals will be given the opportunity to manage projects as a standalone QS, and have full exposure to clients. SDFR032 Quantity Surveyor Essex £40k - £45k + Car or £6,000 Car Allow + Pension + Healthcare + 25 days’ hols. Reporting to Commercial Manager for the successful delivery of a key contract framework plus other projects, supporting administrative functions by offering commercial input and ensuring that operational field staff have assistance with quotations and management of projects. Quantity Surveyor – The role • Value completed works and ensure measurement compliance with SOR’s. • Manage supply chain costs. • Compile Cost Value Reconciliations. • Produce quotations and pre-estimates. • Follow procedures for client work approval. • Commercial and administrative involvement with Works Management System and other IT software. • Manage data in Excel. • Support and develop Junior members of staff. • Monitor budgets and track progress against annual plan. • Provide innovative ideas and continuous improvements. • Measurement of works on site. • Post-audit of works commercially. • Attend client progress meetings. • Effective communication with various levels of personnel on the framework, internal and external. • Involvement with PQQ and tender submissions. • Provide cash-flow forecasts. • Identify and notify Compensation Events. • Procurement of suppliers and sub-contractors.
