Interim Senior Project Manager - Capital Delivery London Borough of Waltham Forest Initial 3-month contract (with a view to extend) £400.15 per day Umbrella Working Pattern: Ideally on-site Mondays and Wednesdays We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Capital Delivery team at Waltham Forest Council, leading the delivery of complex capital, regeneration and development projects across the borough. This is a client-side role with a strong focus on housing delivery, regeneration and capital projects, taking schemes from initial concept and business case through design, procurement and construction to completion and handover. The Role As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of high-profile capital projects, working across housing, residential, mixed-use, commercial and community developments. You will act as the Council's client representative, coordinating multidisciplinary professional teams, consultants, contractors and development partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead complex capital projects from RIBA Stage 0 through to completion and handover. Deliver housing, regeneration, development, refurbishment and mixed-use capital schemes. Manage professional teams, consultants, contractors and development partners. Lead procurement activities in line with Council procedures and public procurement regulations. Manage project budgets, costs, commercial performance and value for money. Provide professional advice to senior officers, elected Members and other key stakeholders. Support continuous improvement and best practice across the Capital Delivery service. About You You will be an experienced Senior Project Manager / Development Project Manager with a strong background in capital delivery, regeneration and development, ideally within a local authority or housing association (public-sector environment). We are particularly interested in candidates with: Proven experience delivering capital and development projects. Strong experience in housing delivery and/or regeneration. Experience managing projects from inception through to completion. Strong understanding of procurement and construction contracts. Experience managing significant project budgets and commercial performance.
