We are supporting a leading provider of Mechanical and Electrical Installation and Maintenance Services in their search for a talented Mechanical Estimator. Our client delivers high-quality projects across both the public and private sectors, with a proven track record of excellence, customer satisfaction, and repeat business. The Role As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be an integral part of the Estimating division, working on a diverse range of Industrial and Commercial projects, with values ranging from £500k to £45m. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of exciting and challenging projects while being based in Cambridge. Key Responsibilities Review and analyse tender documents, raising Requests for Information (RFIs) as required. Manage supply chain correspondence and supplier enquiries to ensure competitive pricing. Perform take-offs in accordance with standard estimating conventions. Vet incoming tenders to ensure the most viable offers are included in project submissions. Prepare tenders for internal adjudications, providing accurate costings and risk assessments. Present detailed costing approaches, project durations, and risk assessments during tender adjudication meetings. Ensure the timely submission of tenders and support project handovers to the operations team. Required Experience Proven experience in mechanical estimating within the construction or engineering sector. In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and installation practices (e.g., HVAC, piping, plumbing). Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail. Strong ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
