Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London and Kent
Salary: £425 p/d - £450 p/d
Start Date: Immediate

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a tier 1 contractor on a £100m+ major railway framework which covers the southern and eastern regions of England. The framework covers a range of railway related projects including stations modifications, buildings and civil, structures and bridges and track.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio framework contracts circa £35m based on NEC3 forms of contract
Responsible for the successful delivery of these contracts ensuring to achieve set margin target
Liaise regularly with the client aiming to develop and maintain a good working relationship and resolve issues at the project team level
Successful change management both at the Main Contract and Subcontract level
Maintain cost control throughout the life of the contract and take proactive measures to maintain the desired balance between Value and Costs
Analyse and report on costs, accruals and forecast costs using company accounting and commercial systems available
Support in the tendering process by preparing subcontract enquiry documents, tender analysis and recommending the project team in the selection of the most suitable subcontractor/supplier
Procurement of subcontractors and materials
Subcontract management including drafting of the subcontracts, assessment of application for payments, change management etc.
Supervising 2-3 junior commercial staff working for his/her portfolioBenefits:

Senior Quantity Surveyor
This leading tier 1 main contractor has an immediate start opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a project in Ealing, West London. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term freelance contract.
Your contract as Senior Quantity Surveyor will start as soon as possible, and the support needed will be ongoing and for a minimum period of 6 months. This Senior Quantity Surveyor position will be based on site in Ealing, West London so you must live within a reasonable commute.
This is a 2-stage project and currently working with the client to agree the contract sum. The value will be between £70m-£80m and will consist of a complex cut and carve refurbishment, large extension and fitout.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor for this project you must have a recognised UK construction qualification and must have worked on similar projects before. This is a Senior Quantity Surveyor role that will be responsible for a large proportion of the work.
