Job Title: Clerk of Works Hotel Project (Snagging & De-Snagging, Fieldview) Location: Kensington, London Contract Type: Freelance / Fixed-Term Start Date: ASAP Rate: £220 / £230 About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Clerk of Works/Defect Manager to join our clients site team on a high-end hotel project in Kensington. You will be responsible for the management, tracking, and resolution of snagging and de-snagging works, using Viewpoint Fieldview to ensure defects are recorded (photgraphic), assigned, and closed out efficiently. This is a key role during the final stages of construction, requiring a meticulous eye for quality, strong site presence, and clear communication with contractors and consultants. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive snagging and de-snagging inspections across all trades and areas. Record and manage issues using Viewpoint Fieldview, ensuring accurate tagging and photographic evidence. Monitor and chase subcontractor close-out of snag items, updating status in Fieldview. Liaise closely with the site manager, project manager, and quality teams to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items. Provide clear reporting on defect trends, progress, and outstanding works. Support handover and practical completion processes, ensuring rooms and areas meet required standards. Requirements: Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, or Quality Manager in the construction sector. Strong background in snagging and de-snagging on fit-out or hospitality projects. Proficient in using Viewpoint Fieldview for defect management. Solid knowledge of construction practices, building regulations, and trade sequencing.
