As Permit Supervisor, with P2W knowledge, you will focus on the production of new WAF's and Permits. Responsibilities will include the reviewing, issuing, and monitoring of work control documentation for Turnbull as well as the works of a wide range of site activities such as excavations, confined spaces, hot works and working at height. You'll also coordinate work interfaces between teams and monitor work delivery to ensure that permit controls are being implemented correctly. Working with the planning and coordinating team to ensure inspections and audits are regularly carried out, and work activities take place within permit parameters, is a vital part of the role. You will also be dealing with contractors and supervisors out on their work platforms to overcome unforeseen or reactive issues involved with construction activities, as well as ensuring work can continue in a safe and compliant manner, according to site expectations and industry regulations. What you'll do To oversee and manage all aspects of the Permit. Implementing business objectives and targets as set out in the strategy to move the business forward by reviewing our operations. Using new technology where appropriate and keeping staff trained and motivated. Managing interfaces with other departments, building relationships and getting fast resolution of any issues. Assisting awareness of staff to improve safety and reduce accidents/incidents to protect the workforce from injury. Issuing of Work packs to be audited and monitoring of the Permit review document. Creating reports each week and sending these to the Construction Manager. Ensuring good liaison with other Turnbull departments, including Tier 2 subcontractors, promoting a consistent approach, building relationships, and providing resolution of identified problems. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. As the leader of a team programme and plan the technical activities required carry out a project to a specified client requirement. Our client a leading Energy company are seeking a Construction Manager - Underground Cables for an on-going contract role based in South Lanarkshire. ACCOUNTABILITIES * Responsible for project technical input for planning & development stages including supporting the build-up of all pre-construction information. * Provide technical expertise to project delivery strategy, project programme, and support & assist the principal designer to coordinate the design stages. * Assist with the delivery strategy & preparation of contract bid packages of work. * Lead the technical analysis for each contract & proactively resolve technical queries this includes leading the technical evaluation of each bid to meet key milestone dates for award and site start. * Acting as the Principal Contractor on the project in line with CDM regs 2015. * Leadership of the Construction Management Team (CMT) providing technical support, & advice, primarily in relation to all civil, cable, & associated overhead line or substation connections during the construction stage for transmission projects this will include monitoring of the works. * Manage and deliver site works to meet commercial conditions of contract including minimising delays and claims for variations. * Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and in a team consisting of Project Management, Quantity Surveyor's, Engineers, Safety, Environmental and Quality advisors. * Responsibility to proactively plan and monitor the project and contractors programmes to meet agreed key dates or milestones. * Experienced in application of Quality procedures and checks against activities. * Experienced in site environmental legislation, waste, and mitigation. * In depth knowledge of all quality standards and specifications with a focus on planning & monitoring of the works using the contractor's inspection and testing regime this will include control over all material and free issue equipment. * Support & Coordinate project development design, planning, estates, & wayleaves & procurement stages to support contractor access requirements. * Ability to proactively liaise & interface with SPEN transmission operational staff Protection Engineers and SAP understand & implement safety from the system support commissioning stages and provide technical assistance during commissioning panel meetings.
