I am currently working with one of the largest main contractors in both the clean and wastewater environment that currently deliver both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for 10 of the largest national water sector companies, on the lookout for an ambitious quantity surveyor to join their current team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will work alongside the Contract Delivery Team to ensure the contractual control, cost management, profitability and cash management of Civil Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical and Combined schemes, predominantly in the water industry. Duties may include but are not limited to; Attending post tender and pre-contract meetings. Assessing contract risk and work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plans. Undertaking cost to complete reviews with the contract delivery teams. Attending internal and external commercial review meetings. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. Managing the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement. Preparation of / assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works. Maximising value and minimising cost, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to monitor and manage the operating cost base. Developing and issuing of cost reporting as requested by the client in relation to spend forecasts and identifying the variance between actual costs against forecasts within activities. Ensuring that the delivery team are briefed and have sufficient commercial support to monitor and react to budget variances. About the role: In this role you will primarily be responsible for all the commercial and/or operational aspects of the contracts allocated to you by your Manager. You will be provided a diverse portfolio of projects from working on our leakage programme to working on a large DPC (Direct Procurement for Customers) project worth billions of pounds. The Opportunity: This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Agent to a National, Award Winning Civil Engineering Organisation with main offices located across the UK. You will be site based working on infrastructure schemes in the North East. The Role: This is a permanent, full time role. The successful Site Agent will have previous experience of working on civil engineering projects in excess of £3million in value, preferably with exposure to Water industry projects.
