Our Client is a Yorkshire based MEP Design & Build Contractor with offices throughout the region. The business holds strong links to the industrial, commercial, retail, leisure, education, health care, residential and social housing sectors amongst others. The Leeds office was founded last year on the back of key relationships and contract wins, delivering large scale residential developments and specialist accommodation for health and social care services. With a regional turnover already exceeding 6m, the Leeds division is scheduled to treble in size over the next 3 years, requiring several key appointments to support such growth and facilitate both preconstruction and site based activities. Top of the recruitment agenda is to secure the services of a commercially astute MEP Design Manager to oversee the flow of design work, most of which is currently outsourced to a framework of local Consultants. The appointed Engineer will naturally have a Mechanical/HVAC or Electrical bias, but must have a strong appreciation of their weaker discipline and be comfortable discussing full MEP schemes at design meetings and reviews. With timescales and costs closely monitored to ensure projects remain on track for agreed handover dates, the MEP Design Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of all preconstruction design duties. This will include substantial experience of early phase and detailed design stages, coordinating key information and ensuring accuracy of design work throughout the life of the project. Applications are invited from senior MEP design professionals looking to move further into design and cost management, or alternatively design aware operational specialists who have worked exclusively as a MEP Project/Contracts Manager and looking to move further into preconstruction design.
