We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Contracting team, delivering a diverse portfolio of civils and environmental projects across the UK. This is a leadership role focused on planning, coordination and successful delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to the required quality, on programme and within commercial targets (SQTC).
This is a full-time role involving a combination of office, site and remote working, with regular travel and periods of staying away from home where required. Due to the nationwide nature of our projects, flexibility is essential.
The Role
You will lead the planning, management, coordination and delivery of projects within our Contracting business unit ensuring Safety, Quality, Time and Commercial (SQTC) controls are embedded and maintained throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the project in line with the contract and the client's pricing informationReport to the director on any matters with potential commercial or contractual implications.Chair subcontractor pre-let meetings, prepare subcontract orders in conjunction with the PM & QSEnsure the client and QS are kept appraised of variations to the works and any matter likely to have commercial or contractual implicationsParticipate in, and contribute to commercial reviews and legal mattersProvide input for tenders, including contractor's proposals, participate in interviews and presentationsProgrammeAssist in the development and updating of the contract programme Ensure approved design, procurement and construction requirements are in line with the programme, monitor progress and update accordinglyUndertake monthly contract reviews with the site and commercial teams, report programme, commercial and contractual risks to the director.Ensure contractual notices are issued in relation to the programme in accordance with the contract documentsResourcesManage project resources and notify about external recruitment needs.Lead project teams and ensure appropriate training is provided.Undertake regular staff and subcontractor performance reviews Client & third-party communicationMaintain and foster professional and positive relationships with clients, designers and subcontractorsRepresent the company at client meetings where necessaryPromote the client's brand and report any prospective business leadsDevelop strategic partnerships with third parties and attend business networking opportunities What They Are Looking ForQualifications/ExperienceEssentialB.Sc. (Hons) in Civil Engineering or equivalent, in a related fieldProven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager in the civil engineering sector Strong knowledge of NEC or similar civil engineering contract formsValid driving licenceDesirableExperience in marine and /or flood protection worksMembership of a professional body (e.g. ICE, CIOB) advantageous.Due to the location of the project, travel will be expected within the role.
