This is not a conventional Building Surveying position. You ll join a highly regarded specialist Development Monitoring consultancy that advises banks and development lenders on construction projects across the UK. An increasing part of their work now involves projects where something has gone wrong and the lender needs considerably more than a standard monthly monitoring report. A contractor may have failed. A developer may be in difficulty. There may be quality issues, health and safety concerns, incomplete works or simply a project where nobody is quite sure what the real position is. That is where you come in. The Role You ll work on distressed, problematic and unusual developments, in London and further afield at times, helping establish what is happening and what needs to happen next. MEP Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities: Preparing MEP cost plans, estimates and budgets Producing tender documentation for mechanical and electrical packages Reviewing contractor and subcontractor returns Supporting procurement strategy and tender analysis Managing valuations, variations and change control Preparing commercial reports and cost forecasts Assisting with final account negotiations Monitoring design development and identifying cost implications Attending client, design team and contractor meetings MEP Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Building Services or a related construction discipline Previous UK consultancy / PQS experience Experience managing mechanical and electrical cost packages Good understanding of MEP systems and associated cost drivers Experience across residential, commercial or mixed-use developments would be advantageous MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership Knowledge of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes Strong numerical, reporting and commercial skills Confident communicating directly with clients and project teams In Return: 50,000 - 65,000 per annum London-based position Strong exposure to MEP-focused commissions Residential, commercial and mixed-use project portfolio Direct client and consultant interaction Professional development and chartership support Clear progression towards Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor If you are an MEP Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
