Your new role Our client is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on high-profile projects in the Bournemouth region. The role offers a structured progression route and the opportunity to work across a variety of civils, M&E, and infrastructure schemes for major clients. Responsibilities will include: Supporting the Quantity Surveying team with the commercial management of ongoing contracts. Assisting with the preparation and submission of monthly valuations and cost reports. Helping manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variation orders. Maintaining accurate records of site progress and financial performance. Working closely with operational teams to monitor budgets, forecast costs, and control risk. Assisting in the negotiation and agreement of final accounts. Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and internal commercial procedures. What you will need to succeed: Experience working with either a main contractor or specialist subcontractor on infrastructure or construction projects. A strong understanding of commercial processes in a contracting environment. Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills. Familiarity with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software. A positive, team-oriented approach with a desire to learn and grow.
