I am looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a contractor in Bristol. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team in delivering cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality social housing projects, including planned maintenance, refurbishment, new-build developments, and responsive repairs. The role involves assisting with cost control, contract administration, procurement, valuations, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting regulatory and client requirements. Responsibilities of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor: Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and cashflow forecasts. Support the monitoring and reporting of project costs against budgets. If you are an Estimator from a rail, civils or construction background looking for a new and exciting opportunity in a thriving billion-pound organisation with a healthy pipeline of projects coupled with an outstanding tender success ratio, then this will be for you! The Role The variety in this role is endless! Working mainly on long term framework agreements that can have anywhere up to 60 live jobs across the Southern part of the UK running concurrently. The works mainly consist of building repair works, platform resurfacings, signal box refurbishments, canopy repairs and Mechanical and Electrical jobs including lighting. This role will be on a high volume, low value framework which will require you to actively overcome challenges. As the work is high volume there will be an expectation to complete assigned tasks competently, but at speed. The work is largely civil engineering including grit lasting, bridges and platform refurbishments and some building works. The building element is likely to include things such as level crossing repairs as well as other minor works. You will need to take instruction from the commercial team and their assistants and create accurate cost value reports for the senior commercial team and the end client. Renumeration: Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with generous holiday entitlement of 26 days plus bank holidays. I am looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a repairs and maintenance arm of a Housing Association based in Merseyside. They are looking for a responsible and trustworthy individual who has previous site experience and would be able to support a heavy workload. This is an excellent opportunity to provide on-site support to new build and refurbishment building projects across the North West. The role will be predominantly out of the office, with 3 or 4 days a week being spent on site, although the role is based in St Helens. The successful post holder would be expected to manage sub-contractors on site, process monthly variations, reports and valuations, so previous experience is essential. Previous contractor experience in similar roles is essential, as well as working towards a relevant degree level commercial qualification. Ideal experience in working with JCT Design and Build contracts. The successful post holder must hold a valid Full UK driver's license.
