Singh & Jones are working with a well known Facade Contractor based across the UK. Due to high demand and large project wins, my client are keen to step up their hunt for experienced Designers to be based across their regional offices the Midlands, London and North West. My client is keen to hear from candidates who have a strong Curtain Wall design background.
These positions will be reporting directly to the Design Managers based from each offices and the responsibilities will include;
* Providing design solutions and material to a wide range of projects across the UK
* Requesting specific design information in order to draw GA Designs
* Leading of own project work, and delivering on a timely manner
* Recording and document flow of each design process
* Dealing with any design variations accordingly
* Assisting fellow teams on the delivery of projects
* Attending pre design, and site set up meetings
* Understanding and experience of various Facade systems, such as schuco, kawneer and wicona to name but a few
* Actively involved in self development by attending facade related courses
The ideal candidates will come from a Facade design background and have a sound knowledge of curtain wall, stick system, punch hole and unitised systems. Having relevant qualifications in Architectural Technology and MSc in Facades is desirable, with at least 2 years post grad experience, or qualified by experience.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients who are a leading façade solution supplier with a vast portfolio of works including single project values in excess of £3 million. They specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of curtain walling, windows, doors, structural glass assemblies. Their team of designers bring their heavyweight experience to your plans whether undertaking small- or large-scale projects and are available to discuss all building details from concept through to completion.
Due to continued expansion they are now looking for a designer with a Façade and, or architectural background is required to work for a well-established, highly recognised fenestration and curtain walling company based in Swansea. Candidate will have previous curtain walling, façade or glazing experience as the company specialises in the supply and design of curtain walling, architectural aluminium and building facades. My client would also would consider someone who would like to relocate off their own back.
Responsibility & Duties
* Produce high end technical drawings and AutoCAD design proposals
* Have a good eye for detail and accuracy
* Be able to work diligently on their own and within a well-established design team
* Be able to confidently read and understand Technical drawings
* Answer technical design queries from client, the company's sales team & installers.
* Attend internal and external meetings to discuss client requirements
Experience & Qualification
* Knowledge of curtain wall / façades / building envelope systems / cladding, Aluminium systems, Structural Glazing, windows, doors.
* Excellent oral and written English.
* HNC / HND in Building Studies, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Architectural Technologist
* Designers must be fully conversant with AutoCAD.
* Façade Design ideal
* Revit BIM would be advantageous
