Senior Quantity Surveyor
Slough Up to £70,000 comprehensive package Hybrid (2 days WFH)


Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a senior role with greater autonomy, impact, and progression? Our client, a leading social housing refurbishment contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex refurbishment and retrofit projects across the region. You ll be involved from pre-construction through to final accounts, working closely with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. As part of a collaborative commercial team, you ll also provide oversight and guidance to junior surveyors who focus on reactive repairs offering support, mentoring, and light management to help develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial delivery of refurbishment and retrofit projects within the social housing sector; manage cost planning, valuations, variations, and final accounts; prepare and review tender documentation, cost reports, and contract administration; work closely with project teams to ensure financial targets are achieved; build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders; support and oversee junior commercial team members working on reactive repair works; ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and health & safety standards.

About You
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing, refurbishment, or similar construction environments; strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex project portfolios; familiarity with refurbishment and retrofit works (PAS 2035 knowledge beneficial but not essential); excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive team culture; organised, proactive, and confident working independently when required.
