Our client has an immediate need for a site based Quantity Surveyor with highways and earthworks experience, on a long-term Outside ir35 contract basis. Freelance Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities: Reporting to the Project Manager onsite, you will be responsible for commercial administration of self-delivery earthworks packages, under an NEC contract. You will be responsible for: Day to day commercial administration of earthworks and drainage packages. Reviewing progress on site in line with commercials and programme. Monitoring, forecasting and reporting on budgets and costs against programme and producing CVR's. Reviewing payment applications and agreeing monthly payment valuations. Agreeing instructions, change and processing variations. Undertaking Take-off's and Remeasurements as required. Attending client and project progress meetings. Agreeing Final Accounts. Freelance Quantity Surveyor requirements: Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar qualification and relevant experience. 5+ years' experience working on Civil Engineering projects, delivering earthworks and highways packages. Subcontractor and self-delivery experience preferred. NEC contract experience. Self-sufficient, able to manage projects from start through to Final Accounts. Your new role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, reporting to the Commercial Manager, you could be working on a range of projects across the water or power space. Ranging in value from £250K to £5million you will typically be responsible for multiple projects at once, ensuring that our clients' commercial interests are protected. Working in partnership with your clients and other stakeholders, you will be an excellent communicator with solving commercial issues without risking this relationship. Senior Quantity Surveyor - Birmingham 6-month contract on a live project in Birmingham on a new build Highway scheme Location: Birmingham Salary: £350 per day (Outside of IR35) Role Description: This role requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on a larger 30million+ Highway scheme based in Birmingham. This role is in place to work with the Managing Quantity Surveyor on site in getting the site systems and sub-contractors set up as the project is now live on site. There is the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff in the future but due to various issues with COVID19 this is a 6 month temporary position for now. Working on one Highway scheme you need to have experience of Highway projects previously, used to the stakeholder engagement and processes in place by Highways England. Working under NEC forms of contract and used to being involved at the beginning of a project with the initial site set up and commercial processes being rolled out on site. Required Experience: A Qualification be it HNC / HND or full Degree ideally in Quantity Surveying or other related subject.
