Site Manager (Civils)

Overview

We are looking for a Site Manager with a strong civils background for a battery energy storage project in Southampton. The role involves managing civils and groundwork packages from start through to completion, including drainage, ducting, concrete slabs, and associated infrastructure.

This is a live site and you will be responsible for coordinating direct labour, subcontractors, and ensuring CDM compliance across the project.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure HSEQ standards are met
• Manage civils packages including earthworks, ducting, and foundations
• Coordinate subcontractors and direct operatives
• Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and manage site documentation
• Ensure programme deadlines and quality standards are achieved
• Liaise with the client, engineers and management team on progress

Requirements

• SMSTS
• First Aid
• CSCS (Black or Gold card preferred)
• Previous experience on civils, infrastructure or battery storage projects
• Strong understanding of CDM and site compliance
• Ability to lead site teams effectively and manage subbies
• Local to Southampton or commutable distance
