Straight-Line Civils are currently hiring Handymen/IPAF operators around London. This project is removing and replacing bricks or plaster board in buildings (offices, flats, university accommodation, etc) in order for a fire safety engineer to check everything is safe behind whatever you have removed. You will be required to drill into the mortar around three bricks, carefully remove them. The fire engineer will then come check it is safe. Once he has checked this, you will then come back, mix your own mortar for the bricks up, then carefully put the three backs where you removed them from. In this instances where you are working with dry walls/plaster board, you will cut out a 40" x 40" space then a fire surveyor will come again. You will then fit the board back in working with korking, sanding down the area, and ensuring the space is re-painted (very small spots). You will be working with a labourer/banksman who will monitor the bottom of the IPAF. If you know an individual who would be suitable, please make it known within your application For this role you must have: IPAF ticket Experience with brickwork and dry-lining Full UK Driving License and a van/vehicle Following tools: hammer drill (cordless), trowel and bolster (any brick laying tools you have), pad saw, mini disc cutter (the client has spares of these if needed) There will be an initial one week trial period. Logistics Support (036jc) – Preston - £7000 for 8 weeks work My client who has been requested to run a small project, near Preston from the 4th April to the 2nd June to build, manage and then tear down a temporary camp for approximately 160 to 180 personnel. DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY. The location is situated on a mixed concrete and gravel surfaces and is next to an Army Barracks, in essence, you will be part of a team who will be building up the whole camp and tearing it down at the end with the site restored to original condition or better. They are looking to recruit 4 x handymen for the full period of the project 4th April to 2nd June. Salary would be UK Pounds 7000 each for the full period and this includes an allowance for working weekends and bank holidays. Accommodation, messing, laundry will be provided, and you will work a 6-day week with 8-hour days. You will report to the Camp Manager and will be part of a team looking after the site. Travel costs to and from site at start and finish will also be refunded. To be eligible for this role you will need the following: * Full clean drivers’ licence and have to be competent to drive a 9-seater passenger minivan * You will need to have an MHE driver qualification for forklift and Tele-handler * You may also need to pass a background criminal check You will need to prepared for all sorts of handyman type work; Erecting/dismantling tents including internal fitting, taking in stores, delivering stores and equipment to site locations, fixing portable signs, filling up generator fuel tanks and so forth, nothing too over the top. This role would probably suit a JNCO who has experience of G1098 operations and is happy to muck in. They are paying £7k for the contract, as well as all accommodation, food, laundry will be covered by the client.
