The role will also involve on occasions site based in-situ testing predominantly in relation to monitoring wells but may also include ground testing techniques. The role will also include transporting goods to site and back to the office and assisting site workers when necessary. The Store Manager / Site Technician is expected to ensure that all tasks and technical work is carried out to a high standard and on time. Key division of time spent on each part of the job will be set on an annual basis and reviewed regularly. Key tasks: Keeping yard and store tidy Delivery of samples and equipment between store/yard/site/laboratory Logging in and adequate storing of samples Disposal of samples Stock keeping Record keeping Execution of gas, groundwater, extensometer and inclinometer instrumentation monitoring. Execution of site based in-situ testing such as but not limited to permeability testing, dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) testing, hand vane testing, pocket penetrometer testing or mexe cone testing You will be expected to manage your own time, maintain effective communication with the office/Project managers and will ensure all relevant records are kept up to date. Stock taking experience will be an advantage, training will be provided for the site technician/monitoring side of this role. You will be expected to drive to sites over the whole uk so a full driving licence is required. There may be very occasional overnight stays required also.
