Job Title: Experienced Tekla Draughtsman Structural Steel & Metalwork Location: Weston Super Mare Job Type: Full-Time Department: Design / Engineering / Detailing Reports To: Operations Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tekla Draughtsman, specialising in the detailing of structural steelwork and architectural metalwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models, General arrangement and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures, ensuring all work meets industry standards, client specifications, and project deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile and technically demanding projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Key Responsibilities: 3D Modelling & Drawing Production Produce fully detailed 3D models of steel structures and metalwork using Tekla Structures. Generate accurate fabrication drawings, general arrangements (GAs), erection drawings, and material lists/BOMs. Apply appropriate connection details, steel sections, and fabrication methods in line with company standards. Technical Coordination Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and models. Liaise with engineers, architects, project managers, and site teams to resolve design queries and ensure clarity. Coordinate with other disciplines (cladding, M&E, civil works) to avoid clashes or conflicts. Quality & Compliance Ensure all drawings and models comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., BS/EN standards), and CE/UKCA marking requirements. Participate in internal checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and buildability. Maintain document control and issue revisions in line with project requirements. Support & Mentorship Assist in mentoring junior draughtsmen and providing guidance on best practices. Contribute to ongoing improvements in modelling standards, templates, and workflows. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in steel detailing using Tekla Structures (multi-user environment preferred). Strong understanding of structural steelwork fabrication and erection processes. Experience working on a variety of steel projects (e.g., portal frames, trusses, staircases, balustrades, secondary steel). Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings. Familiarity with NC data, bolt lists, weld symbols, and material take-offs. Proficient with relevant software tools (Tekla, AutoCAD, MS Office). Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. Desirable: Tekla Structures Certification or formal training Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and IFC/3D model exchanges Knowledge of architectural metalwork such as balustrades, handrails, and feature stairs Understanding of fabrication shop and site installation practices

Senior Construction Manager, South-West £70,000-80,000 + Package This is an opportunity to join a major global Engineering and Project Management Consultancy as part of their team to be mobilised as the Construction Management partners for an Energy related mega-project of the very highest profile within the UK. This opportunity will be focused around supporting the end user's construction department by using your knowledge and expertise to shape the construction process and project, whilst overseeing various main and sub-contractors that have been awarded packages of work. This is a major new-build project and we are looking for people from a heavy Civil Engineering background with extensive experience with RC Frames, Re-Bar, Steel Frames, Earthworks etc. Although this is an energy related project it is not essential that you have worked on similar energy projects but you must have the core engineering skills and major project exposure. Duties • Working with the relevant contractors at all stages of the construction planning process to provide advice and expertise and ensure that all relevant procedures and documentation for contractors to follow are current and up-to-date • Working with the contractors to oversee related construction works, ensuring that infrastructure protection is established and that the works are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner to ensure that there are safe systems of work and environmental controls on site • Take an operational lead on interfaces with all external and internal stakeholders relating to project areas. Establish, manage and maintain relationships with key customers, including contractors, and key stakeholders in order to resolve issues quickly • Assist as required in the contribution to the overall construction plan by supervising planning of access, possessions and closures • Facilitate management of the client, supply chain and various stakeholders, and assist in the development and implementation of the delivery vision and strategy for the infrastructure programme, to ensure delivery according to time, cost, quality, safety and environmental specifications • Work within an operational team to develop and implement business processes and performance monitoring across all activities in order to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance. Engineering Manager Main Contractor – Construction South East London – Site Based Permanent: £85,000 - £90,000 Freelance: Negotiable: £380 - £450 per day One of the World’s Leading Construction Main Contractors is currently searching for an individual to become the Engineering Manager on one of their most prestigious projects located in the heart of London. This project is a £4+ Billion redevelopment scheme with a current phase valuing £1.7 Billion. The current works consist of Structural Frame installation which consists of both Reinforced Concrete Frames and Structural Steel Engineering so experience working on this phase of works is essential. This individual must have a very strong Engineering background and have strong experience managing a range of engineering personnel including Site Engineers, Temporary Works Design Engineers, Structural Engineers and Project Engineers. This person must be comfortable managing 50+ personnel, reporting to the onsite Director. Role: - Manage a range of specialist engineering personnel throughout the project, covering all aspects of construction from Temporary Works, Civil Engineering and Structural Frame Installation. - Liaise with onsite Construction personnel including Construction and Technical Directors, as well as Senior and Project Engineers. - Deliver daily and weekly progress reports to other department heads and deliver briefings to your management team. Required: - An individual with at least 5 years experience working in a managerial role, specifically in the Engineering aspect of construction. - You must have strong engineering expertise and preferably will have progressed up from a Senior/Project Engineer occupation. - Relevant Construction Certificates are required including CSCS and SMSTS. This is a site based role on one of the UK’s most iconic projects at the moment.
