Contracts Manager
Based in Essex this position reports into the Director and you will be responsible for the delivery of projects based within the London and Home Counties areas. You will manage the Site Agents and teams to ensure projects are completed safely, to strict programme and budget. You will liaise with clients and other relevant parties to build relationships and support the development of the business.
You will:
* A relevant HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction (highly desirable but not essential)
* Hold NRSWA qualification
* A minimum of two years experience as a Contract/Project Manager
* Ideally with utilities experience
* Reside within reasonable commuting distance.
* Experience of producing SHEQ documents of CDM regulations
* First class communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent client facing and organisation skills
* Able to motivate and organise site based teams
* IT literate
* Be commercially and contractually aware
* Be flexible when needed

Immediate start on a long term contract for an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in drainage design.

The Company and the role
Ganymede are currently working in partnership with a large local authority based across Hampshire to deliver an exciting five year £500m Transportation framework across many areas of Civil and Structural Engineering within sectors such as Rail, Highways, Marine and more. Projects will range from a few hundred thousand in value up to £(phone number removed) so this long term opportunity is sure to provide you with a vast amount of experience as well as an exciting work life given the scale of the projects you will be involved in.
The Role of a Senior Design Engineer
As an Engineer on this project, you will be expected to manage a particular section of works being responsible for anything from the paperwork and contractual side, to proposing design solutions considering all Health and Safety aspects, through to detailed design and actioning the implementation on site through the relevant contractors.
You will be expected to estimate and manage costs as well conducting progress reviews and subsequent reports to ensure the project runs on time and within the allocated budget.
Using sector specific documents, processes and agreements such as Section 38 and 278 agreements is inevitable for this type of work and as such, you will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders including developers, consultants, planners and solicitors to ensure the successful delivery of your works.
The Requirements
For the position of Senior Design Engineer, you will need to hold a certain level of qualification to fulfil the requirements of the job, so I’d be really interested in speaking with you if you hold either a HNC/HND, NVQ, Degree, or similar within Civil Engineering.
CAD software will be used throughout your time on the framework so experience with design packages such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar will be highly beneficial to you.
