We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior level leader to join our Capital Works team as Associate Director – Capital Works.
You will be working across a wide and varied portfolio of projects successfully managing consultant teams focused on delivery of significant projects through to completion phase.
Opportunities include working on specialist research facilities like the recently completed Space Institute in the Engineering School, high-tech teaching spaces like our Financial Lab and student accommodation upgrades right through to our much larger programme builds which include state of the art scientific and medical research facilities; teaching and learning facilities; or projects to support the student experience such as the new Recreation and Wellness Centre prominent on Symonds Street.

Service Charge Accountant - OUR CLIENT is an active and successful subsidiary arm of a sizeable privately owned property investment company. They have instructed us to help recruit an experienced Service Charge Accountant to provide the best service to their residents, and work within a friendly finance team based in Surrey. Candidates should want to improve processes, systems and efficiencies so that the company and team keep evolving. THE ROLE responsibilities for Service Charge Accountant will include: Assisting property managers in preparation of service charge budgets and implementing into the property management system. Raising and issuing billing to leaseholders. Monitoring and checking expenditure against budgets throughout year, monitoring cashflow. Monthly performing bank account reconciliations. Raising and sending service charge and ground rent invoices. Assisting property manager with budgets. Preparing and reconciling year end - accounts ready to go to external accountants including accruals and prepayments. Processing reports, handover information and funds. Process accounting data using both PM software and others (EXCEL etc.). Preparing reports including budgets, year end, arrears and others as required. Ensuring compliance with internal accounting, legal and RICS regulations. Answering financial queries from residents and confidence to challenge. THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for Service Charge Accountant role: Experience of service charge budget and accounts preparation. Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations. Working knowledge of a Property System (MRI QUBE, Dwellant or similar preferred) along with the excellent Microsoft office skills. Any full or part accounting qualification would be an advantage (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Responsible attitude to work and demonstrate attention to detail. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Ability to prioritise and work quickly and accurately to tight deadlines. Able to remain calm under pressure. Flexible, proactive approach to work and willingness to help with tasks as required. Benefits: Discretionary Bonus. 5% Pension contribution.
