Are you a Senior Site Agent / Assistant Project Manager, with a focus on process and strong commercial acumen? My client is keen to recruit a Project Manager who will initially be working on a prestigious and technically challenging Bridge project based in the West Midlands, then moving on to other projects in the client’s framework in the region.
Key duties will include:
Overseeing the project portfolio of bridge works and structures throughout the Midlands region
Leading a delivery team consisting of Assistant Project Managers and Site Agents
Development of projects from a pre-construction perspective, providing programme specific information and managing the design process
Working collaboratively with the client to meet significant project milestones and running the scheme to successful completion
Coordinating the team activities in accordance with the programme

About You
The right candidate will ideally have a Project Management qualification, such as MAPM, Prince 2, Six Sigma, or equivalent theory related training. Although the position is in the rail sector, candidates with a background in Highways, Water, Nuclear, Costal Defence, and Civil backgrounds will be considered assuming the meet the other requirements.

Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with a housing contractor or developer
A good understanding of JCT Design & Build and social landlord development procedures
A good understanding of the building regulations, local authority agreements and traditional and modern methods of construction relative to residential development projects
A methodical, professional, and collaborative approach with commercial acumen
Ability to organise your workload across several projects to meet company deadlines
Ability to prepare concise and accurate project and progress assessments reporting to our Residential Operations Manager, and mentor junior members of staff
You will also require:
A good understanding of Microsoft Office and a project programming package. Experience of AutoCAD would also be an advantage

• Manage orders through to completion on internal and client databases in real time ensuring data entry is accurate and complete
• Manage interim reinstatements and Highways Authority defects to ensure all are within SLA and fines and associated costs are kept to a minimum
• Produce J-orders, organise stock takes, materials and stores where required
• Ensure DFEs are updated and correct prior to billing, including all additional costs for applications and traffic management are applied, and any discrepancies between original job packs and works required on site are corrected
• Check and sign off invoices to be passed to Resource Scheduling Manager
• Coordinate resource, equipment etc. to sites to ensure works go ahead, sometimes with the assistance of Site Agents
• Input gang wages to timesheet and confirm wages for price-work crews weekly - if requested by line manager
