Project Surveyor

Location: Tongwynlais, Cardiff

Salary: £35,805 to £37,689 per annum

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Newydd Housing Association is an award-winning organisation that currently owns and manages around 3,000 rented properties in mid and south Wales, working in several local authority areas.

Newydd Maintenance Ltd is a subsidiary company which provides maintenance services to Newydd Housing Association and is built on an in-house contractor model, designed to drive quality customer services, whilst achieving substantial planned growth and expansion, potentially outside of the group.  

About the Project Surveyor Role:

Reporting to our Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial functions of the Maintenance team which delivers a £4m+ budget per annum. You will also ensure budgets are run in an efficient and cost-effective manner across our direct labour workforce and our preferred subcontract partners.

We are looking for a positive, proactive, and energetic Project Surveyor who can build on the success of a newly formed team.

Project Surveyor Requirements:

  • Previous substantial experience of surveying within a commercial function, an expert knowledge of job costing techniques and a working knowledge of building procurement methods
  • Proven track record of success and demonstrable history of providing value for money.
  • Degree level qualification in a construction related field
  • IT literate with extensive experience of MS applications and knowledge of a dynamic repairs system.
  • Enjoy working effectively under your own initiative and managing a busy workload
  • Team player with great customer service and communication skills
  • You may need to work remotely and will need access to a car with business insurance for occasional use
