Key Duties
Setting-out from engineers’ drawings, site surveys, as-built drawings
Reading and interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc
Management of subcontractors/general workforce on site
Liaise with client’s representatives and Design Team members as appropriate
Ensure that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards
Ensure work is carried out to the highest of quality standards
Monitoring and recording of materials on site
Record keeping and reporting
To be successful in this position, you will:
Hold a relevant Third Level Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Land Surveying
Have Excellent IT Skills
Around years of experience working on construction sites

The primary objective will be to develop and complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and Invitation to Tender documents, with the focus on providing a compliant and accurate bid to imposed deadlines. You will work as part of a team, assisting the delivery of high quality bids in order to maximise the chance of securing new contracts.
The main responsibilities are assisting with:
* Preparing pre-qualification questionnaire submissions
* Providing tendering support, completing the quality content of tender submissions and developing an overall document for submission
* Producing case studies for completed projects
* Maintaining an answer library and suite of information
* Maintaining the CRM database
* Assisting with developing marketing material including information packs, brochures, invites, banners, newsletters
* Assisting the Marketing Manager with external communication (social media and website)
Essential Skill Requirements:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The primary role is to support projects by carrying out a variety of temporary works designs.
The successful individual will in turn will support the training and mentoring of new appointed temporary works designers and graduates working in the Technical Services department.
In addition, the function of all engineers based at head office is to assist with the preparation of tenders as part of the Work Winning team.
This could include:
* Development of methodology and sequence
* Identifying and assessing temporary works
* Logistics planning
* Assessing overhead requirements
* Liaison with the supply chain
* Assisting and advising the bid manager, estimator and planner
* Liaison with Operations teams including project based engineers.
In addition to the primary role our head office engineers have the opportunity to spend time in various technical services functions following assessment.

Quantity Surveyor - St Austell, Cornwall
Are you a Quantity Surveyor seeking progression with successful principal contractor securing significant amounts of work in the South West? The opportunity exists to join a dynamic team with an interesting variety of projects throughout Devon, Somerset and Cornwall.
You will be joining an established and well-structured team in place at the beginning of a significant infrastructure program to deliver a new highways scheme. As such your development will be well catered for and is likely to lead to accelerated progression to Senior Quantity in a measured and considered timeframe. The scheme has been priced and value on NEC3 target cost with the majority of work being self-delivered minimising the headache of managing external sub-contractors.
In undertaking this role you will be responsible for;
Monthly applications & cost value reconciliations.
Quarterly cost and value reconciliations.
Procurement & administration.
Measurement of the works (where applicable) & dealing with change.
Assessing risk and cost monitoring.
The position will be an integral part of the contractor's regional commercial team working on a key projects in the South West. The commercial tem work closely with their clients and the operational teams striving to build and establish strong client relationships without over reliance on contractual terms.
You will need to demonstrate prior experience ideally within infrastructure projects in the region but will enjoy an established business delivering a range of prestigious an long term projects bespoke, individually tendered and as part of frameworks.
Desired Skills and Experience:
3-4 years minimum experience + within Civils Highways infrastructure ideally with NEC3 forms of contract.
Strong commercial acumen and problem solving abilities.
Clear communication skills, both verbally and oral.
Excellent Negotiating Skills.
In depth knowledge of civil engineering working methods.
Full UK driving licence.There will be flexibility on salary, most important is to recruit the right individual. As a guide salary range of £35,000 to £40,000 p/a plus extensive package including pension, car allowance, healthcare, and other additional benefits.
