Planning Team Leader £22 - 27 per hour* *North Yorkshire* An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Team Leader (Development Control) based in a Local Authority in North Yorkshire. 2 month contract - possibility of extension The main duties would be the following: Supporting the Head of Planning Services and contributing to the Trading Standards and Planning Services Management Team as appropriate Provide the team level input to the preparation and delivery of the Service Plan of Trading Standards and Planning Services Ensure delivery of effective trading standards functions to meet any national and local framework targets or performance indicators including the setting and monitoring of service plan targets Manage site visits, investigations and other enforcement or administrative activities in relation to Planning Services ensuring the County Council's policies and procedures for risk management are adhered to Oversee the liaison of officers with members of the public, Agents/Applicants, other County Council departments and other external bodies who seek advice or assistance in relation to planning legislation To act as the Service's specialist officer and advisor in relation to development control and advise both management and other staff on the interpretation, implementation and review of such legislation. Provide and deliver appropriate training to relevant staff as required by the Head of Planning Services To deputise for the Head of Planning Services in presenting reports to the County Council's Planning and Regulatory Functions Committee and at formal Committee Site Visits To act as lead officer in the processing of planning applications for mineral working and waste management To act as lead officer in the processing of planning and other applications for County Council developmentRequirements: A degree in planning or other appropriate professional qualification and a member of the RTPI or eligible for or working toward full membership Clients are looking to interview and shortlist shortly, so please submit your CV promptly for consideration.
