Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a technically minded Building Surveyor with the inclination and aspiration to take on project management duties, to join an ambitious firm of Surveyors and Valuers with the potential to progress into a Management role. The organisation, which has a varied service portfolio, is looking to bring in fully qualified Building Surveyor with 1 to 2 years post-Chartership experience. The position will involve a diverse set of responsibilities, split between 2 offices located in Staffordshire and Shropshire, with regular site visits required, so applicants will have a driving licence and access to their own vehicle. You will be required to coordinate between client and contractors on exciting renovation / conversion schemes, Contract Managing and Project Managing, undertaking periodic inspections and valuations, along with assessing quotations. In addition, the role will involve traditional pre-purchase building surveying activities, assessing Building Regulations compliance and completing detailed reports to a high standard – the ability to produce AutoCAD technical drawings is a distinct advantage for the position. Practical experience of projects with listed buildings and heritage assets would be desirable. Suitable applicants will currently work in the role of Building Surveyor within Practice or Consultancy, have full RICS Chartered status.
