A highly successful leading subcontractor known for their expertise in façades is seeking an experienced Estimator to oversee their projects at pre-construction from tender receipt to project win and to lead a small and effective team. The company is well recognised for their ability to design, procure, and install a variety of façade systems for some of the most prestigious multimillion residential projects in London. As one of the UK's top fabricators and installers of building envelopes they need a knowledgeable Estimator to strengthen and manage their current team.
As Head of Estimating you will be supporting and reporting to the Operations Manager to ensure the successful tendering for and wining of various façade projects. Therefore, your day to day responsibilities will vary from but are not limited to:
- Reviewing the Tender documentation.
- Developing the Tender design by proposing building details and construction methods.
- Estimating the cost of the internal production activities.
- Searching potential external suppliers.
- Managing price requests to external suppliers.
- Managing a team of Estimators.
- Compiling the Tender submissions.
- Monitoring Tenders after submission and respond to any further requests by the client.
- Managing all communications with the client during the Tender process.
- Liaising with the Engineering and Production departments.
The ideal Head of Estimating will have at least an HND or equivalent qualification and a demonstrable track record ideally exposed to a suitable specialist sub-contractor and preferably with experience of curtain walling, cladding, roofing, façade refurbishment and new build. You will have a focused attitude, and excellent communication skills and must be able to work as part of a team and possess a high level of motivation.
The salary will be dependent and a product of experience. In return, the package will include a car allowance and additional benefits which will be negotiable. Remuneration: £30,000neg + 1% of total sales

The role of the Sales Estimator – Architectural Mesh Systems will involve:
* Sales estimator position selling a wide range of architectural metal mesh systems for both interior and exterior applications
* Dealing with sale enquiries and researching cost of materials for projects
* Receiving quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time
* Preparing and submitting official quotations
* Following up on quotations to convert sales
* Possess a good technical understanding of products to advise clients and deal with queries
* Assisting in bids for new contracts and supporting the sales team
* Dealing with projects from specification through design, tender, sales and installation
* Typical projects would include hotels, schools, colleges, leisure centres, housing, office refurbishments
* Dealing with a range of order values from £1k to £250k
* Supporting the division to achieve Circa £1m turnover
The ideal applicant will be Sales Estimator – Architectural Mesh Systems with:
* Ideally will have a good understanding of specifications, architects and specifiers
* Must have experience with producing quotes / estimating within the construction industry
* Strong technical understanding of buildings, regulations and a technical understanding of cladding projects would be advantageous
* Comfortable and ideally experience in dealing with complex and bespoke projects
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Strong appreciation for aesthetically pleasing construction projects
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* High levels of attention to detail and organisation
* Strong emphasis on customer service, team player, determined and organised
