A Structural Warranty Provider seeks a Building Inspector of new-build residential developments in Farnborough and Basingstoke. Inspections and home-based report writing address Building Control and warranty risk management standards. Starting salary of up to £55,000, bonus, vehicle allowance, enhanced pension, with opportunities for career progression.
Building Inspector responsibilities
Inspect construction or conversion of properties to ensure construction professionals adhere to Building Regulations and warranty criteria wherever possible to mitigate against future claims
Provide quality assessments, report on defects, structural faults and recommendations to clients via on-site report generation
Schedule own workload and ensure maximum efficiency during site visits
Record inspections and relay findings to customers as required
Maintain an open dialogue with peers and management to ensure standards are consistently upheld
Advise the underwriting team on technical queries
Balance insurer and client expectationsBuilding Inspector requirements
Residential development experience from foundation to completion
Qualified to degree/ NVQ Level 6 and above
RICS/CABE/CIOB membership preferred
Awareness of construction standards in the context of Building Regulations and/or structural warranty technical manuals
Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
Full UK driving licenseBuilding Inspector benefits
