The Role:

They are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to lead on a newly secured New Build scheme. My client specialises in New-Build and Refurb projects ranging in value £5 - £10Million. Sectors include Commercial, Healthcare, Leisure and Education.
Role:
As Project Manager you will be reporting into the Construction Director and will be responsible for the following:
* Involvement with pre-construction through the tender phase, design and procurement.
* Ensuring that there is a Health, Safety and Environmental Management system in place
* Leading the project as a number 1 and making sure there is a successful working environment and team ethic on site
* Manage and be the main point of contact for the client and their adviser's - ensuring that this is managed to the highest level
* Co-ordinate and guide the supporting team including Designers and Sub-Contractors
* Produce and build the contract programme - both short and long term
* Running and attending regular site meetings with the site team to insure that all responsibilities and progress is communicated clearly
* Ensure completion of "snagging" at handover of the project.
* Continue liaison with the client and his team as required post completion
Requirements:
To be considered for the Project Manager role, you must have the following experience:
* Experienced and proven ability as a number 1 on projects in excess of £5m+
* Varied project experience
* Have come from a trades background or obtained an industry recognised degree
* Have a stable career working for any other leading contractor
* MUST be a strong communicator and able to manage site teams

Foundation Personnel are looking to recruit a Construction Engineer to work with our Client a large Earthworks Contractor.
Construction Engineer role:
Would suit a Section Engineer / Senior Engineer with previous experience of working for a main contractor / large subcontractor
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Construction Manager and receive instructions to:
• Ensure the works are being built correctly to specification – detailed knowledge of the contract earthworks drawings and specification will be expected.
• Use the weekly programme to ensure permits, risk assessments and method statements, specifications / details, setting out info / models are available to the earthworks teams on time and that the earthworks supervisors know what is required
• Write and amend RAMS in a timely manner to ensure all areas of work are covered with a suitable document (assisted by health and safety adviser)
• Work closely with the surveying team to ensure model information is available and loaded onto GPS machine guidance when needed. Assist with site surveys and setting out at busy times – it is not envisaged that this will be a large part of the role, but knowledge of the use of total stations, GPS rovers, GPS machine control, survey software / AutoCAD will need to be learned or maintained.
• Use volume information to inform foremen on specific queries e.g. you have 20,000m3 left to place in this embankment.
• Carry out work to identify areas for improvement in production – monitor loading times, haul routes etc. and compare weekly productions.
• Raise TQ’s / RFI's in a timely manner and ensure they go to the correct person for getting answered quickly.
• Identify Compensation Events / additional works as and when they are found, and notify Commercial team. Ensure a thorough understanding of the subcontract and what works we are required to carry out.
• Ensure quality records are produced to a good standard and supplied to quality manager for collation. Check the compaction requirements regularly.
• Ensure the latest information is always in use on site – obtain from Quality Manager and disseminate to staff supervisors. IPads are likely to be used by site supervisors for record keeping, assist with the development of the systems and training supervisors in their use.
• Identify NCR’s and report promptly to avoid disallowed costs
• Ensure safety standards are upheld and report any issues with our works to management. Assist with inductions of personnel at busy times, and the distribution of safety material – RAMS, tool box talks etc.
• Knowledge of earthworks, highways construction generally, and NEC option C target cost contracts is desirable.
