Murphy has been awarded one of three multi-billion-pound contracts by Network Rail for the South of England, worth up to £7bn for Control Period 6 . The multi-discipline framework will deliver projects of varying value, including stations, buildings and civils, electrifications, power, signalling, telecommunications and track.

Purpose of role:
To provide and efficient control of work service, supporting projects, moves and churn Events and operational activities across the contract Portfolio. This role will offer a mix of hybrid working and visiting various sites throughout the city.
The role will provide support to the Project Management team day to day management of workflow permits and project requirements Work alongside the operational team Management to ensure that the management of projects is accordioned with the Project Manager to ensure delivery to the clients MPS.
Role Objectives:
Host oversee review site visits reviews with contractors HSE and ISO accreditation, both projects related and in support of the Permit systems
Support Manage work delivery at client premises, ensuring agreed quality objectives and timely project completion is meet audits and tool box talks are filed.
Manage safe execution of work to ensure adherence to the safe systems of work safety observations work place inspections and project observations.
Management of the small works operations to ensure that workload and permits are managed and delivered.
Manage, support and audit the control of works process,
Develop and maintain consistent, professional and effective communication with project managers, contractors, consultants, customers and client representatives.
Assist contractors, project and FM Managers to understand client and company requirements relating to contractor management and control.
Provide suitable Health & Safety information to contractors including client protocols & company requirements, local procedures, welfare facilities, contacts and carry out inductions when required.
Review, comment and accept risk assessments and method statements prior to work commencement.
Audit and review of Log books and service sheets dip check COSHH.
Carry out and document inspections of work equipment within competency. Both electrical and other skill sets
Undertake proportionate monitoring of contractors to ensure that CDM and Small Works requirements, including method statements and risk assessments, are being adhered to
Appraise contractor H&S performance with work owners / CAM Managers.
Coordinate with FM infrastructure teams to facilitate works
Proactively seek innovation in all areas of service provision, in pursuit of continuous improvement
Issuing of permits
Managing Low Risk works as well as large projects of multi million pound values.

Key Opportunities.
The majority of your time will be based across their sites in Gosport and in Portsmouth in the renowned Historic Dockyard. You will be working in their historically important buildings and aboard some of the world’s most famous ships, which include – HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, HMS Alliance and HMS M.33. There is also the opportunity to travel when required to other Museum locations in the UK, including Yeovilton, Hartlepool and Belfast. This is to be stressed that this is occasional though and you will not be expected to travel to these sites too frequently.
Overseen by the Electrical Supervisor, your work will ensure that the museum’s Historic Ships and buildings are able to operate effectively and safely. Using and updating the Facilities Management system (CAFM) to track and schedule routine maintenance tasks and emergency works from a PC or tablet.
Their historic vessels are a public attraction and draw crowds from around the globe, you will be expected to engage with visitors about the important conservation work being undertaken. This role provides an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in the challenging heritage work within the Historic Ships Team.
Knowledge/Experience.
Fully qualified and experienced Electrician with the ability to present documentary evidence of qualifications.
You will be required to have previous proven experience in electrical maintenance, emergency lighting, Risk Assessments and Health & Safety.
A Marine Electrical background would be advantageous but other electrical backgrounds will be considered for the right candidate.
The role does require the applicant to be qualified to City & Guilds level 3 Certificate in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (2322). Applicants with equivalent Qualification’s or Experience are also welcomed.
Qualified to Inspection and testing certificate (2394/2395) is desirable but equivalent qualification will be considered. Also desirable is the experience working on alarm systems, fire detection and audio systems.
The applicant will possess working knowledge of IEE regulations and BS7671.
