My client, who offers the market a unique end-to-end service ranging from needs assessment & solution definition, through design, manufacture, installation & commissioning, to aftercare and operation of water & wastewater treatment assets. They're looking to grow their process design and technical support based out of their Thetford office, with the specific sites being Rickinghall.
Duties & Responsibilities:
General Duties:
oManagement of site personnel and subcontractors.
oLiaising with the Project Manager / Project Engineer on all aspects of the project.
oLiaising with all personnel working on the project regarding all aspects of the contract.
oMaintaining a high standard of positive communication with our client site teams
oWriting engineering reports, commissioning schedules, etc.
Project Planning & Communications:
oEnsuring that all day-to-day activities are planned, coordinated and carried out on time and in a safe manner.
oImplementing planned timelines of all installation activities.
oMaintaining and updating the project programme with the Project Manager.
oPlanning and attending technical and commercial meetings with clients and consultants.
oEnsuring all documentation for the project is current and saved within the project folder.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ):
oEnforcing safe work practices onsite and ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times during the installation.
oInducting onsite personnel, subcontractors and visitors.
oMaintaining current training certificates for onsite personnel and subcontractors particular to each task being carried out.
oEnsuring all employees and subcontractors are wearing the correct PPE at all times.
oMaintaining current certificates and inspection records for all plant and equipment used onsite ensuring that any defects identified are repaired in a timely manner. Defected plant and equipment must be removed from use and clearly identified.
oEnsuring that electrical equipment and power tools are PAT tested and free from defects.
oDisplaying the appropriate warning signs onsite.
oMaintaining good housekeeping and ensuring that all walkways are kept clear of all obstruction.
oEnsuring that the relevant permits to work are completed and approved prior to commencement of works.
oImplementing Emergency Plans when required.
oWriting method statements, risk assessments, etc.
oCommunicating method statements, risk assessments and procedures to employees and subcontractors onsite.
oEnforcing health, safety, quality and environmental procedures outlined in the Design Safety Plan, Construction Safety Plan, Quality Plan, Environmental Plan, and Traffic Management Plan, etc.
oRecording and closing non-conformances in the ERP system and ensuring that the corrective action, root cause and preventative / improvement actions are successfully identified.
oAccommodating HSQE site inspections from the client or other external bodies, and ensuring that non-conformances identified during these inspections are successfully closed in a timely manner.
oReporting accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and / or near misses to the Project Manager, Health & Safety Manager, HR Manager (and statutory bodies if relevant) in a timely manner.
oCarrying out toolbox talks.
Other Duties:
oAttend Contracts team meetings, in person or remotely.
oMaintaining and nurturing customer relationships.
oChecking and signing off on deliveries.
oMaintaining site security where needed.
oOther duties as may arise from time to time that are consistent with the job-holder's knowledge and skills, and are needed to effectively perform the role.
Key Skills & Experience:
·Engineering or science degree, HND or equivalent
·Minimum three years' experience in a project management or site management role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
·Experience within the UK water industry.
·Advanced MS Office skills.
·Report writing skills.
·Good communication skills, able to interact effectively with Clients and colleagues.
·Organisational skills with a commitment to the role and a keen eye for detail.
·Willingness to travel nationwide (including overnight stays)

As a Project Construction Manager your duties & responsibilities will include:
Resource Management:

Our client, a leading water infrastructure contractor, is looking to employ a MEICA Co-Ordinator on a permanent basis to coordinate and integrate electrical and mechanical engineering packages on a programme of water and wastewater treatment projects and to ensure that the scope is delivered in accordance with design, whilst working with project management, construction, procurement disciplines and the supply chain to develop and manage MEICA packages within cost and schedule targets.

The Role:
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Mechanical and/or Electrical Estimator/Proposals Engineer, to be based at our Head Office in Southampton. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, together with the preparation of the necessary technical and commercial submission documentation for a wide variety of M&E Engineering projects across the UK and overseas. Applicants should have a background in estimating M&E projects as well as ideally having a mechanical or electrical engineering background, with a working knowledge of the related electrical and ICA elements.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Report to the Estimating and Bid Manager, programme and manage own workload within the MEICA estimating team
* Prepare multi-discipline proposals for the Process & Water, Energy, Defence, Oil & Gas and Nuclear sectors
* Comply fully with the documented company tendering procedures
* Read and fully understand client specifications and drawings
* Understand documentation required for formal submissions
* Ascertain preliminary and detailed project requirements and solutions, including programmes and value engineering solutions
* Liaison with the ‘in-house’ M&E design team and project delivery teams for each sector as necessary
* Prepare material, labour, plant and subcontractor cost analysis spreadsheets
* Prepare preliminary tender programmes
* Organise and partake in bid initiation, technical and commercial review meetings and subsequent follow up meeting with technical and commercial directors.
* Present the cost estimate in full detail to management for review and final approval. Responsible, with senior management, for the identification, evaluation and ranking of risks as well as developing a strategy to manage and mitigate the risks to the company as the basis for estimating an appropriate contingency allowance for inclusion in the cost estimate.
* Attend site visits and client meetings
* Consider site safety, health and environmental issues
* Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors and ‘in-house’ resources
* Compile and collate documentation, schedules and data sheets etc. for inclusion into final formal proposal submissions
* Ensure that commercial and technical submissions are fully compliant with the conditions of contract with all necessary details of clarifications and qualifications to the proposal clearly communicated.
Skills/Qualifications:
* A history of tendering M&E Projects as either an Estimator or Project Engineer within the above mentioned sectors
* Knowledge of contract conditions and in particular the NEC suite of contracts
* IT literacy – Minimum MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and MS Project

DESIGN COORDINATOR – HAVANT

We are seeking to recruit a Design Coordinator with a water & process background, to join our project office team in Havant, Hampshire. The Design Coordinator will work as part of a multi-disciplined team, responsible for the production of design deliverables, they will liaise between the Mechanical, Electrical & Civils design teams and the site team.
Reporting to the Project Manager, duties include but are not limited to;

* Tracking the project deliverables on the DORM and liaising with the internal and external design team
* Coordination (managing the production and checking), of design deliverables produced by specialist suppliers or subcontractors
* Updating and tracking the design programme
* Managing change and reporting to the Project Quantity Surveyors
* Updating and tracking procurement using the procurement schedule
* Constructability liaison between the design team and Project Manager
* Providing technical assistance to project teams during the installation and commissioning phases of projects
