The role: BSRIA provides a nationwide service for compliance across the UK with airtightness (Part L or Section 6), sound insulation (Part E or Section 5) and ventilation (Part F) testing and consultancy. Our range of services to help constructors and designers comply with Building Regulations, and ensure buildings are completed to design requirements. As a member of ATTMA, BSRIA is UKAS accredited to test to CIBSE TM23, BS EN 13829, and ATTMA TSL1 and TSL2. This job relates to a vacancy within our Compliance Department. My client are a leading developer delivering major projects throughout the UK. They operate in the new build student accomodation, highrise residential apartments and new build housing sectors. They are a multi-million pound turnover group and a leader in their sectors of the construction industry.
Starting on site in November, they have a prestigious new build scheme in Edinburgh; a £30m new build, 2 x blocks of concrete frame construction consisting of circa 250 student bed studios above a ground floor collection of retail and leisure units. The project will include a significant brickwork facade package to its external shell.
This project will be live until completion and handover in 2022.
The scheme is being overseeing by a strong team of long-standing operational and commercial staff including a Senior Project Manager, Site Managers and Engineer alongside technical and commercial teams. They now require an experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Manager to bring this project out of the ground as number 1 on site.
As such you will be experienced in working on prestigious, city centre schemes of minimum £20m, with an strong track reckod of maintaining excellent quality and H&S standards. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience operating at such level and on such schemes.
The following tasks are not in priority order:
Overall responsibility for construction, through to the completion of the building, to the agreed programme.
Ensuring key pre-construction items are closed out to allow a successful on-site start.
Formulating and agreeing main contract programmes.
To set the agenda for the construction process and the design/ information co-ordination to achieve that process.
Single point of contact for client.
Liaise with all departments regarding information needed to progress and complete the project successfully.
