I am working with a new client, a large Charity within the Church of England worshipping community, who are Recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager for one of their Community Centre s. The Diocese covers more than 1500 square miles and five London boroughs, the county of Essex. The Centre was built in 1980 s and as well as home to other communities, private, voluntary and public sector organisations, it offers offices to rent and a variety of rooms for hire, ranging from a boardroom holding around 12 people to halls that hold up to 100 people. (40 hours per week) This brand-new role of the Operations Manager is to ensure the building is maintained and fit for purpose and meets all legislative requirements, in addition to the delivery of excellent standards of service to all users. Duties include: Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the centre, including finance matters, staffing and contractors, buildings and maintenance management, equipment and health and safety. Plan and action marketing activities for the centre. Responsible for relevant aspects of the financial management of the centre & ensuring financial information is appropriately reported and actions are managed. Responsible for the line management of centre staff Responsible for ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place and maintained. Support emergency preparedness and crisis planning. Act as the go-to person in relation to all facilities activities on sites . To undertake relevant projects for the centre . To ensure all maintenance, as well as improvement projects are undertaken by competent contractors and within budget. Responsible for the delivery of all hard and soft services Act as the first point of contact relating to all building issues. Monitor and ensure office housekeeping and cleanliness is delivered to highest quality level. Maintain the critical systems on site including, fire alarm, HVAC etc. Oversee the delivery of Service Charged elements of property management on behalf of the diocese. To ensure leases for facilities within the centre are reviewed and, where appropriate, renewed in good time. This is a hands on role you will be very much involved with a lot of aspects of the centre. To communicate in an open, honest, transparent manner at all times is a must and promoting an excellent level of satisfaction among the staff, visitors and clients is key.
