The Role: (Senior Quantity Surveyor)
Reporting into the Directors, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Preparing tender and package contract documents & Scope of Works.
Reviewing Client amendments [to JCT]
Undertaking cost analysis for tender returns on the project.
Assisting in establishing the client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
Performing risk and value management and cost control.
Advising on procurement strategy.
Preparing and monitoring procurement Schedules to agreed/ahead of Project
dates.
Tendering Packages in line with procurement schedule: Including liaison with
Design and Construction for input to Scopes & package inclusions.
Issuing Recommendations internally for approval with supporting documents.
Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
Allocating work to subcontractors.
Providing advice on contractual claims.
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
Valuing completed work and arranging payments issuing payment/payless notices.
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
Monthly updating of the AFR Cost Value internal reports. Review of current costs/ end life predictions and Prelims Forecasting.
Monthly sub-contract valuations.
Monthly client valuations.
Managing and guiding sub-team members.

Lecturer-Electrical Installation (Multiple Roles)
Salary: £28,616-£35,770 pro rata

Lecturer – Electrical Installation 0.25 FTE teaching Level 3 to 16-19 year olds. (Monday all day/Permanent)
Lecturer- Electrical Installation 0.25 FTE teaching Level 2 to Adult Learners in evening classes. (Monday and Wednesday evening 6-9pm/Permanent)
Lecturer- Electrical 0.5 FTE teaching Level 3 to Adult Learners in evening classes. (Fixed term until end of academic year 2023)
Location: Ashley Down Centre, then Advanced Engineering Centre (Parkway) from August 2022

We have an exciting new opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Electrical Installation Lecturer to work within the Construction team to inspire the next generation of trades people.
Your role will include the planning and delivery of high quality, imaginative and inspirational teaching which meets the curriculum requirements and responds to the needs of students on a range of programmes. You will ensure that each learner’s needs are met in a responsive way to promote an outstanding student experience.
This role is perfect for someone with experience and qualifications in electrical installation. A teaching qualification and experience in teaching/training would be an advantage, though an attitude toward developing your teaching skills would be highly appreciated. The right person needs to be confident in working in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities.

You will be required to oversee a team of Repairs, Officers Surveyors and Senior Surveyors carrying out Responsive Repairs across the south West Stock.
And will also be required to manage contractors in line with contracts, seeking continuous improvement and ensure clear communication with all parties.
